The Fleur de Lys is a very charming inn in a small village. We stayed there one night on your tour through England during which we have stayed at a different hotel, inn or B&B every night and we have learned that when booking these kind of accommodations from afar, it is a kind of hit and miss. This little charming place was definitely a HIT. The rooms were nice and modern, with a little bit of English country side charm. The bed was super comfortable (and believe me that was a rarity during our trip). Not to forget that the hospitality of the young man hosting us was top notch. All in all totally worth it’s price.

Absolutely brilliant experience. Very clean, modern, safe hotel. Amazing breakfast, big size room with everything what needed. Very comfortable bed. Zoe and Anastaciia on Reception are very polite and professional, score 10 of 10 for hotel and staff.

Rooms were comfortable--we had balcony which was nice so we ate dinner there. Had travelled a lot and ordered room service and both the staff and the food were excellent. We did not make use of the facilities much as we were there for only one night but it was lovely. Its not really walkable into Oxford city center but there is a bus stop right in front and the cab we used arrived in less than 5 minutes. Honey treats at check in made there was a nice touch.

Boasting garden views, Kingfisher Barn provides accommodation with patio, around 15 km from University of Oxford.

The staff were extremely helpful when we encountered some difficulties in our travels. We were kindly allowed to use their phones to sort out an issue. Overall they went above and beyond to assist us.

Rooms were large, comfortable and nicely decorated with drinks provided and nice toiletries. The restaurant served an excellent Sunday roast and breakfast the next morning was excellent. The public bar was cosy and welcoming. Benson itself is a pretty town close to the river and public buses.

The Chequers at Burcot had an excellent restaurant, with a delicious menu and wine list, set in a character filled, thatch-roofed building. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the location was convenient for us. The owners (I presume) were very friendly and hospitable, and we were offered a welcome drink to enjoy by the fire, before dinner. Although our trip was for work, staying at The Checkers was a treat that made us feel like we were on a holiday. We liked it so much, we stayed a second night.
