Accessible Hotels in Phong Nha

I don't know where to begin. We had such a rough start to our trip to Phong Nha, when the bus we had originally booked on 12go scammed us and we were stranded in a bus station in Hanoi. To our luck, Gem the homestay host messaged me ahead of time earlier that day asking to message if I needed any help, and I definitely needed her help. She was amazing, she got us bus tickets to Phong nha within 10 mins of messaging and this bus dropped us off right at her doorstep. She didn't even take payment from us until we arrived at her homestay. In the morning, we woke up to a beautiful homestay location, her beautiful family and all the puppies! Gem and Tuan took care of us, taking us to Paradise Cave and even the Duck Stop with their own vehicle, and we had the most delicious food in all of Vietnam at their restaurant during lunch and dinner. When we told them our entire bus experience, they offered us a private car to Hoi An as that was our next destination and Tuan drove us himself the whole 8 hours. To say we are thankful is an understatement. We've met a lot of people during our many adventures, but they are the kind of people that stay close to heart even when the adventure is over. We still think about Gem and Tuan's kindness and hospitality towards us and we hope our paths cross once again some day. It was the shortest leg of our trip in Vietnam but by far the most amazing day we've had. Message to the hosts: thank you for everything. We hope we'll see you and your wonderful family again someday. We are telling stories of you to all of our friends and family and we cherish everything you've done for us. Funny Monkeys is the perfect home stay located in Phong Nha. It was clean, our room was comfortable and provided all the necessities for a 2 night stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful, assisting us in organising taxi transfers and booking a tour to the caves. Funny Monkeys is situated right on the riverside which makes for a beautiful back drop and the resident dog, Coca is adorable. I also appreciated the laundry service provided by the staff, and the communications with Thuy prior to our arrival. Phong Nha is our favourite location so far in our travels through Vietnam and this is definitely attributable to the wonderful stay we had in Funny Monkeys. Added bonus: the home stay is environmentally conscious and tries to reduce waste which is important to me as a consumer.

Amazing owners, great location, spacious room, tasty breakfast.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this Airbnb homestay! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the hosts were the highlight of our experience. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, making it feel like a true home away from home. But what truly stood out was the hospitality. The hosts were incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, even lending us their baby’s raincoat when it started to rain, ensuring our little one was dry and comfortable while traveling. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made all the difference. While the location is a bit outside the central area and there is no public transport connectivity, the peaceful surroundings more than made up for it. The hosts were always available to offer assistance. We felt very welcomed and cared for during our stay, and that level of hospitality is something we will always remember. Highly recommend this homestay if you're looking for a relaxing retreat with exceptional hosts!

A lovely family, they are all extremely nice people, they helped me organise a tour! I love the garden and there is a pool, free breakfast was delicious.

located along the river a flat 10-15 minute walk from town but lots of restaurants along the way. the owner picked us up from the bus at 4am and allowed us to check in early. they connected us with a fantastic caving tour.. an absolute highlight of our month in Vietnam.

Lovely family run hotel that overlooks the peaceful Son river. The view is awesome. It's away from the busy town center, but not very far. There is a nice restaurant "Pi and Gao Quan" nearby proposing some typical local food and excellent bubble teas.

Phong Nha is an amazing place which definitely deserves a few days of your time. We stayed in this incredible homestay and you get the feeling that everything and everyone is genuine. No fancy stuff. Just the unbelievable beauty of natural landscapes and well designed spaces in the homestay. The food was very nice and served on a deck with a great view over the country & fields. The room & bathroom were super clean. The room itself is wow (quality materials) ... While the homestay is located in the rural part of Phong Nha (which is good if you want to avoid the agitation of tourist groups), it's perfectly located: you have a delicious restaurant just along the road a few meters away (Phong Nha Vegan) and you can enjoy a fresh drink along the crystal water of the river. The water is clear and clean, you can happily have a swim in the late afternoon just like locals do while looking at the green mounts and it feels like heaven! Last but not the least, Zhong is a real hard worker with a kind heart, he made everything easy for us and we'll never thank him enough for picking us at night and being helpful and truly friendly.
