Siglo Hotel by Keahotels in Siglufjörður has 4-star accommodation with a terrace and a bar. Offering a restaurant, the property also has a shared lounge, as well as a sauna and a hot tub. The view was incredible; the town itself is one of the most picturesque and the Northern Lights in this location were amazing. The room was quirky and beautiful. Hot tub and sauna were quiet, scenic and utterly relaxing.

This hotel is quietly situated 2 km from Lake Mývatn and 30 minutes’ drive from the Godafoss Waterfall and Krafla Crater. It offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with modern furnishings. Lovely staff and room. Really liked the touch of putting your name on a list on check-in to have a wake up call when the northern lights were active. Amazing views of the northern lights and very good value for money. Breakfast was lovely, great variety, something for everyone.

Featuring a garden and a shared lounge, Guesthouse Básar is located in Grímsey. This guest house provides free private parking, free shuttle service and free WiFi. Is there a way to make of an already wonderful place as Grimsey an unforgettable paradise? The answer is yes. At Básar Guesthouse. The hotel is at the airport facility. If you come by boat it takes some minutes by walk, but the owner Gagga came to pick us by car. She is a professional and attentive host, always available in case of need. Breakfast is majestic. What you need to spend the day making excursions and hiking around the island. Rooms and beds are super comfortable, warm and welcoming. Even if as an Italian prices in Iceland are quite high for me, I found the price very fair and the service outstanding. Don’t miss your chance to stay at the Básar Guesthouse while on the island. A diamond inside a larger diamond that is Grimsey.
