The host and her family here was most hospitable people and gave us ample tips in Icelandic places to visit since we were doing a 10 days of ring road with our 9 year old .And they made sure we had a good stay at his comfortable place and got us free waffles and coffee even though it was not part of the stay.

The family-owned Hótel Lækur is set on an Icelandic horse farm, between the Golden Circle and the south coast. Hella is 10 minutes’ drive away. It offers a sun terrace and a guest lounge. Lovely secluded location near a stream and a small forest. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel staff was really pleasant and attentive. They also have Aurora wake up service option which is great!

Feel cozy, like-home, well-decorated and full kitchen-function with a lot of space, good location near golden circle but private, not too crowded. The owner was very nice and friendly.

This little house is very cozy and very well equipped. We didn’t notice while making a reservation but the place has a gas grill! How awesome is that!

I loved absolutely everything about this manor. It was refined-country, cozy, crisp, and sophisticated-for-Iceland without being pretentious or minimalistic. Painted wooden panels, lush couches and beds that you sink into, spacious bathrooms. Beyond the decor being truly attractive, the staff was always smiling and helpful. After a freezing trip under the Seljalandsfoss waterfall's spray, I felt my extremities again in their clean sauna and further rejuvenated in the pool looking directly out into the landscape. Food was delicious with intriguing combinations of tastes. Parking was free and plentiful, access from the main road was simple, yet removed from the fray. I highly recommend this hotel/manor.

Featuring mountain views, Heima Holiday Homes provides accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 42 km from Ljosifoss. Secluded and serene. Love how the homes are built on their own individual mounds of grass allowing for separation and privacy from neighbours. The homes themselves are well equip and spacious with a beautiful shower. Property has 2 friendly dogs belonging to the family roaming around, who came up to greet us and play ball. Host was very welcoming and helpful.
