Grund was a warm and cozy respite from cold and extremely windy weather. The apartment was in a fantastic location in town - a short walk from the one small grocery store, a restaurant, and a waterfall. It was also an easy drive to all the amazing sights in the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. The kitchen and bathroom were recently updated. The kitchen has all you might need to cook - including an ample supply of spices and oils to use. All in all this was an amazing place to stay for our first two nights in Iceland.

Firstly, the food is superb and the best we had in Iceland, both the breakfast and the restaurant for lunch and dinner. It is worth coming for the food alone. The location is remote and spectacular. The hotel is very comfortable and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. There are a lot of cool things to do in the area, we particularly enjoyed walking to see the fascinating ancestral history and art of Páll Guðmundsson, a short walk across the way from the hotel, which really captures the magical earth energy of the locality and the nearby stone canyon. Then of course I must mention the thermal baths attached to the hotel, which are wonderful and free to use for guests. There is also a northern lights wake-up call on offer, and we saw the lights twice. Do not hesitate to come here, we will definitely be coming back!

We also had breakfast at the guesthouse, they have a good vegan option in the buffet as well.

The greeting we experienced at the front desk while checking in set the tone for an extraordinary stay. The room was cozy,, the bed so comfy, and the private bathroom was sparkling. The breakfast was deliciously and had a variety to satisfy any morning taste. The views from the dining room are stunning! We would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.
