I particularly enjoyed the ambiance of the River View room, which comes with a private hot spring bath. As for the three public hot spring baths, they are also impressively large and beautifully designed. The buffet options for both dinner and breakfast offer a great variety of delicious dishes, evident from the high number of guests enjoying the service.

Absolutely love how child-friendly the hotel is. My children (3&1) loved the baby room with the toy kitchen, and the floor we were on had a small play space by the elevator, the wonderful play area inside and outside is fantastic and the buffet included children’s food & baby food. Just spectacular! My eldest experienced onsen for the first time and it was so spacious and easy for him to get around, he loved it! Me and hubby also loved the lounge evening drinks & snacks (which included sweets for the children - amazing) Thank you to the staff who spoke English for my check in!

The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko features restaurants, fitness centre, a lobby lounge bar and shared lounge in Nikko situated by Lake Chuzenji and overlooking Mount Nantai. We were expecting a fine hotel experience for our trip to Nikko but experienced so much more at the Ritz Carlton. Elevated, serene, beautiful facilities and accommodations along with one superlative food experience, made for one of our favorite stays anywhere, ever. Both of our rooms were wonderful, but the suite was just wonderful. All of the food was very good during our stay, but our omakase experience - our favorite sushi ever and one of our favorite meals ever. (For what it's worth, I have never used 'ever' so often in a review) Consistently friendly, helpful staff as well. This is a unique and special place and I fully expect that we'll retreat here again on future trips to Tokyo.

Kyukamura Nikko-Yumoto, a property with an open-air bath, is situated in Nikko, 14 km from Kegon Falls, 29 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, as well as 30 km from Tobu Nikko Station. This ryokan is lake-facing at the Yumoto Onsen. It is about a 40-minute drive from the Tobu Nikko station and a 15-minute scenic drive from the Lake Chuzenji region. It is located far enough from the main tourist hotspots to be peaceful; but close enough to not be too much of an inconvenience. Patrons seem to be mainly Japanese. Contrary to other reviews, we found the food to be of good quality and variety. Breakfast is an abundant buffet, and dinner is a mix between buffet and a set menu There were international staff members who could speak decent English; they were helpful. The onsen was a tad crowded but featured both indoor and outdoor baths with natural spring water. Our room had an en suite toilet and shower. There were decent views of the lake (though partly obstructed by foliage). There is a lounge providing complimentary cold and hot beverages from check in time till about 8 pm. There is a boardwalk along the lake just outside the property. Abundant parking.
