Excellent position with lovely views. Great communal fascilities with delicious continental breakfast served daily, including home produced fresh eggs. Very, very friendly atmosphere all round both from the owners and the other guests. Also within touching distance of the Abel Tasman National Park, 20 minute drive to the boats taking you into the park. Lovely garden with very good supply of herbs if you’re cooking at all. Excellent cooking fascilities available in the communal kitchen.

Set in Marahau, 300 metres from Marahau Beach, Adventure Inn Marahau offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities. Great vibes. Lots to do. People running it were friendly and helpful. Live music some nights. Burgers some nights.

Kaiteriteri Reserve Apartments is set in Kaiteriteri overlooking the golden sand beach. The accommodation is air-conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. The apartment was great! It was cosy with a lot of space. It was very clean and quiet, the bed was very comfortable and the location was great. The view from the main bedroom and the living room was beautiful. The washing machine, drying machine and dishwasher were very useful.

Waitapu Springs B&B is set in Takaka and features a spa and wellness centre and a shared lounge. This 3-star bed and breakfast features a spa experience, with its sauna and hot tub. This is the place that you fall in love with immediately, the facilities were terrific the owners , serge and Maria they make you feel like home , breakfast is perfect and the spa is just the cherry on top of this perfection , we enjoyed our night and highly recommend it

Patons Rock Beach Villas is a 3-star property located in Takaka. This villa offers air-conditioned accommodation with a patio. Beautiful location near to beach. Villa had everything we needed and was very clean and quiet. Lovely gardens.

Offering free WiFi and free on-site bus and car parking, Mohua Motels is located in Takaka. All accommodation offers a patio, fully equipped kitchenette and mountain and garden views. The owners were really interested in their guests, friendly and approachable for any discussion or questions. The location and facilities met our expectations, such that everything was provided to allow us to self cater. Centrally located with the shops and supermarket all within an easy walk. I would recommend people visiting the Takaka area to stay at this motel.

Located in Takaka, 10 minutes' drive from the beach, The Rocks Chalets features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi throughout the property. Free private parking is available on site. Eclectic little cluster of 4 chalets well maintained right outside of Tanaka (short 1 km walk on paved trail into town). Wonderful, welcoming owners who see after everything with great detail. Originally booked here because Kaiteriteri over the hill had nothing left, but would stay in Golden Bay again in heart beat. Nice drive to Totaranui on easy gravel road to take water taxi to Abel Tasman.
