The lodge is modern, super comfy, and Akira along with the whole team were fantastic. Even though we visited at the end of the season and were the only guests, they made sure we had everything we needed. Every morning, they prepared breakfast just for us, and we absolutely looooved every dish. The location was perfect for exploring the area. Can’t wait to come back!

We were supposed to stay for just one night but ended up staying 4! Okay, from the beginning. We had different accommodation in Hakuba, but we weren’t satisfied so we were looking for something else and found Dark Horse by chance. The moment we walked into the house, we were greeted with smiles and warmth. Andy, Rika, Momo and Hana create something truly special. We’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels and such, but this one will stay in our hearts for a long time. Everything is well thought out, you can see it’s taken care of down to the smallest detail, you can see it’s done properly and not just to be the cheapest. We felt so beautifully hosted. They also have an amazing sake collection to try, and the food is delicious too. Thank you again and we already miss it. I hope we’ll get the chance to meet again. PS. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. The shuttle service was very helpful for coming and going from the train station and to various activities. The onsen was clean and relaxing. There was laundry available for use. Games outdoors and indoors. Just amazing.

We had the most amazing stay over Christmas in Apricot Pension. The host and all the staff were so warm, welcoming and accommodating during our stay. The shuttle for the ski field is a 1 minute walk from the hotel and the room was perfect for relaxing in after a day on the slopes with a comfortable bed and a projector for watching movies. The lodge also had a gorgeous fire that was lit each night. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning and it was only a 10/15 minute walk to restaurants, bars and shops.

One of the best experiences I have ever had living in such a family running bed and breakfast place. I felt right at home. Nicky and Mary are both welcoming and thoughtful through the whole time. Highly recommended for people who plans to winter skiing or summer hiking around Hakuba area.

Provvisto di WiFi gratuito, Starfall Lodge offre camere a Hakuba, a 9 km da Tsugaike Ski Resort e 44 km da Stazione di Nagano. Family of 4 stayed in Taurus room for 6. Excellent stay! Big thanks to the team! You won’t find a better staff! The lodge owners take care of their staff and the staff took great care of us! Daily breakfast and shuttles to local mountains were the perfect way to start each day! Shuttle: Staff was very accommodating when we wanted rides to restaurants and the walk back was reasonable; 25 minutes was the longest walk and was quite pleasant even in a light snow. Location: there are 10 ski resorts that are all different, so unless you wanted to stay on one and stay there, the location doesn’t really matter. We went to several different and the shuttle system the lodge runs was great! Starfall was also a 10 minute walk one way to the bus terminal and 10 the other to the train. Room was great! Beds were comfortable and plenty of space in our room. Closet had a waist high shelf perfect for a full size suitcase and more. Lots of hangers. Warm heater. Facilities were awesome-we had two daughters (9, 13) with us. They were very comfortable and had a great time with the staff. There are 6 toilets in private set ups. Never had to wait to use the bathroom. The two showers were also great. Warm outer rooms to undress/dress and spacious showers with two shower heads; nice hot water! We never had to wait for a shower either. Dry room: very helpful and had our ski gear nice and toasty in the AM! If anything, the room was a little hot while getting ready, but we just stepped out onto the covered porch to finish dressing for the slopes! Overall-can’t recommend enough!

All the staff especially the chef were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, especially the fresh made bread and jam. Beds were comfortable. The lounge area had games and cards which we enjoyed playing. The shuttle to the ski area was very easy to catch. Overall we were thrilled with our stay.
