We absolutely loved the Tiny House, everything about it, the ethos of how and why it was built, the design, the location, the hosts, it was a fantastic experience. We would highly recommend others who want to get away from it all, go and visit.

The house is beautifully nestled in the woods, the scenery (even from the bathroom!) is amazing! There's a lot of space and the rooms are comfortable and cozy, the hosts are great and super helpful, and will give you amazing advices to explore the surroundings. Do yourself a favour, avoid the super touristy hotels of the area and stay here!

Siamo stati ospitati in una casa tradizionale, a pochi passi dal fiume, che il nostro ospite, sempre attento ai nostri bisogni, ha cercato di rendere più confortevole possibile considerandone la natura. Consiglio vivamente a chi cerchi un modo alternativo di sperimentare il Giappone di trascorrere qualche giorno qui, girovagando per la valle. the Shimanto valley is truly beautiful, the hills are covered with natural forests, the rural landscape recalls ancient Japan, far from the frenzy of the big cities. We were hosted in a traditional house, a few steps from the river, which our host, always attentive to our needs, tried to make as comfortable as possible considering its nature. I highly recommend anyone looking for an alternative way to experience Japan to spend a few days here wandering araound the valley.

EkimaehouseSamaru è ubicato a Shimanto-cho, a 35 km da Ichijo Shrine e 35 km da Tamematsu Park. Exceptional in every sense! I loved my stay. The host is the nicest owner you could ever meet, so friendly, so willing to help and a good linguist too. I cannot thank him enough for the kind welcome and advice on where to cycle next. The house is much bigger than the photos show with really cool lounging about spaces all over! Much love and care has gone into making the place feel fun and comfortable. Stay as many nights as you can! The local restaurants are excellent and there’s a local supermarket and plenty of sake!
