It’s housed in the characterful 19th-century Canterbury College complex, now an arts precinct, where the old departmental inscriptions are still visible on the façades. The hotel occupies the former science wing and is beautifully, thoughtfully updated—calm, quiet, and genuinely comfortable. I loved the interior palette: the rooms are styled with exceptional color sense, and the bed was both generously sized and very comfortable. Breakfast is served in a small upstairs room with a little terrace, and the ground floor offers several spacious lounges with a library, 24-hour coffee and tea, and a desk area—great for relaxing or catching up on work.

The host was very kind and had everything ready earlier than we expected. She also provided fruit, tea, and snacks at no additional costs. Everything was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. She even provided a 2nd bed for a friend that was supposed to join us who ended up cancelling. Parking was easy, plenty of sites close by, and it was quiet which was great.
