Nestled amongst peaceful native bushland, Kaka Retreat Motel, Stewart Island offers spacious modern suites with kitchenette, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. True southern hospitality shown to us! Our bags were collected at the ferry and taken to our unit so we could get to our tour on time. Kaka Retreat was wonderful and we even had a Kaka land a arms length from us at the unit.

Evening Cove si trova a Half-moon Bay, nella regione Stewart Island, a 400 metri da Ringaringa Beach. The complementary car rental was great for getting around! The location js quite nice, lots of kakas in the area. The bed was comfortable and the room was nice and clean.

Helen is an outstanding host, starting with picking us up from the ferry terminal then dropping us back. Breakfasts were superb. Assistance with tour details freely given, books offered, so much more. I have been travelling globally and this is the best I have ever experienced.

The house is fully equipped with essential tools and kitchenwares. Of course, the car is the biggest highlight!!! It gave us so much convenience to tour around the island. Definitely a highly recommended place. The owner even purposely headed down to the unit to clean up for us despite the shortage of cleaner during new year period. Thanks a lot!!

No Kiwi SEEN by the cabin area but a walk down the main road resulted in a sighting! The STARS above you & it’s no dream.
