I liked everything, Wilson and Lisbeth were extremely helpful and attentive. All the services that they provided were exceptional like breakfast and dinner, despite of the cold weather their lodge had many features that helped us feel warm and comfortable. The food was amazing, they took into account our dietary restrictions. The only bad thing is that we didn’t stay longer.

L'ideale per rilassarsi sul lago titicaca e vivere un'esperienza local per quanto il posto sia diventato super turistico. La stanza è molto grande e spaziosa ma di notte le temperature si abbassano tantissimo e nonostante il riscaldamento e tutte le attenzioni che la famiglia vi da per mantenersi al caldo (ogni sera mi portavano le borse dell'acqua calda da mettere sotto le coperte) è sempre meglio portare indumenti pesanti possibilmente di lana per stare bene al caldo. Di giorno si sta benissimo perché la stanza è molto luminosa e il sole la riscalda naturalmente Ho amato questo lodge e la famiglia che lo gestisce🥰

This intimate, welcoming lodge is the passion project of Don Mario and Mama Lea, both born and raised right here in the Uros community. They sustain their small floating island by harvesting reeds from the lake and by running this remarkable B&B with care, pride, and generosity. Mornings are magical. Sunrise over the lake is exquisite, the water often perfectly still, and the birdlife abundant. We found ourselves slowing down completely — reading books, braving the cold lake waters during the warmest part of the day, and playing cards together in the cozy dining hut. The peace here is profound. Don Mario offers a two-hour boat tour through the village, guiding guests through the reed beds while explaining how generations of Uros have used these reeds to cook, build, and navigate the lake they hold sacred. It was deeply moving and fascinating to learn about a way of life that feels both ancient and fragile, yet still very much alive. Both Mario and Lea are also gifted artisans. Don Mario creates drawings that beautifully capture the lake and its culture, while Mama Lea transforms these designs into pillow covers, table runners, and wall hangings that are truly lovely and meaningful keepsakes. A few practical notes: the showers are gravity-fed and solar-heated, which means lower water pressure and the hottest water in the late afternoon. The midday sun is intense, so wide-brimmed hats and sunscreen are essential. Finally, a word about Uros itself. Before arriving, I read many reviews dismissing the islands as a tourist trap rather than a genuine community. While tourism clearly plays an important role in the local economy, it is equally clear that this is a real, living community with deep roots. The Uros have existed here for countless generations, passing down knowledge, skills, and craftsmanship. They are skilled fishermen and masters of using reeds for nearly everything imaginable.

We got lucky to arrive before the rain and Walter welcomed us warmly! The location is fabulous. Expect cold during the night :-) thank you Walter for the hospitality and the boat tour.

Tutti gli alloggi includono una terrazza con vista sulla città, una cucina con microonde e un bagno in comune con doccia.... Siamo stati ospiti di Leonardo e la sua famiglia per una notte. L’organizzazione è stata semplicemente fantastica. Arrivati a puno ci hanno fatto trovare un transfer per il porto e di lì un’imbarcazione privata per le isole uros. La struttura è semplice ed accogliente e gode di una vista fantastica sulle isole galleggianti. Da notare: la notte le temperature sono molto basse e non c’è il riscaldamento ma non vi preoccupate vi viene fornita una borsa dell’acqua calda e molte coperte. La moglie di Leonardo ci ha cucinato personalmente la cena (non inclusa nel prezzo) e ci ha organizzato un tour delle isole per il Giorno dopo. Semplicemente fantastici!
