The shower in the ablutions block was a bit low in height for someone as tall as me, but it certainly had the pressure they warn you about and was hot! I don't need air cond in Toowoomba's climate, some might find that trying- I'd recommend seeing if there were classier cabins there if you need this facility. Some of the doors in the budget room were a tad outdated and stuck a bit, but, hey, at $100 a night, you can't be too picky. Look, the product is as advertised; a budget room; and f thats your expectation, it ticks many boxes other in this bracket don't.
We travel to Toowoomba each year for the annual Carnival of Flowers. Our hotel was easy walking distance to the gardens. Always a lovely experience to see the flowers in bloom, and our visits include Queen's Park, the Markets nearby and also Laurel Bank Park is a must for the tulips. We enjoyed lunch at Gips Restaurant, and a visit to the Historical Pioneer Park at Highfields The Miniature Train display is also a great visit for train lovers- at the Showgrounds
Our booking was a late choice on a weekend that was heavily booked for the area. Our original booking had not been notified we needed a ground floor apartment so we had to cancel it. Toowoomba Hospital Apartments was expensive for what we got..It was old and had limited hot water. At $190 for the night I felt it was too expensive for what we got.. In its defence it was clean and we were notified how to access key from the safe.
Such a pretty city the parks are indescribably beautiful. Plenty to do plenty to explore. Don't miss the art gallery and its collections. Cobb and Co museum is very interesting and there were children there having a great time and people like us in their seventies fascinated with the old stage coaches etc.
A very interesting and multi-cultural town with a diverse range of restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and shops, a very large country town that also hosts a wonderful flower show mid-September. Also an amazing new airport just out of town called Wellcamp indicates this is an elevated - go ahead - rural town with some lovely real estate features, great schools and landmark views over the Lockyer Valley. In fact the other "table land towns" Dalby, Warwick, Stanthorpe and many. many more provide a great insight into rural Australia. Very worthy of planning a road trip and hiring a car!!!
Beautiful old city full of nature strips and historical architecture. Being one of the largest regional cities in Queensland, the facilities in town are fantastic. There are some roads and planned works that could’ve been improved but thats to be expected in an older city. Lots of tourism activities, accommodation and shops.
