When I came to the hotel, they told me, that they have no booking to my name, even when I showed them confirmation emails. The receptionist was very unpleasant to me. Then he told me that they can only give me the room if I pay cash with no bill document. Then in breakfast which I got to my room, in bread there were live worms. I showed the photo and bread to the receptionist and received no compensation or apology.

Facilities are good and the room is comfortable. The hotel is (on purpose) close to the historical center of Oran and this allows you to explore its key landmarks easily. However, to manage expectations, please be aware that the neighborhood is quite messy overall, and dangerous in the evening. It is not so close from the city’s trendier restaurants but the hotel one was really good. Just make sure you check what is available in the menu before making your reservation. We look forward to returning to Hotel Medina in a future trip.

The breakfast was basic, but the staff was very friendly and helpful with advise. Free secured parking in the enclosed yard behind the hotel. Walking distance to all the major attractions of Oran, including the lower station of the cable car that will take you up onto the mountain overlooking the city and the Sanctuary of Santa Cruz located there. Strongly recommend. Will stay there again when next time in the area.
