Ngurah Rai International Airport offers easy access to Bali’s southern tourist spots, and is just 2 miles (3 kilometres) from Kuta’s resort centre and 8 miles (13 kilometres) from Denpasar. A taxi will take around 35 minutes to reach Denpasar and cost about IDR 125,000, while a taxi to Kuta costs around IDR 80,000.

Kuta is now the quieter part of Bali.
Kuta is now the quieter part of Bali. Legian through to Canggu is the busier area now. Kuta is great for restaurants and bars. More suited to middle aged. Beach is not as good as Legian or Sanur, but acceptable.Guest review bysargentsteveAustralia - 10

This is a great place to stay - plenty of shops, massage and restaurants - the beach is lovely with a lot going on all the time. Some good restaurants right on the beach and lots of surf schools etc. There are lifeguards in one area, not always marked and in the same place every day - not moved to the safest swim area. But there are nearly always very competent surfers around and lots of people keeping an eye out. But take care, the currents can be changeable. Avoid the hustle and bustle of Kuta itself.
Avoid the hustle and bustle of Kuta itself. Check out Tuban, the lower end near the airport. It's quieter, less tourist and locals remember you. .. and the beach is great. Hotels are more like the 'old' Bali - a better experience if you want to relax and simply soak up the ambience. Kuta has fallen out of favour compared to newer destinations...
Kuta has fallen out of favour compared to newer destinations such as Seminyak, Canggu and Uluwatu. So there is less of a fun vibe in Kuta now in comparison. Accomdation prices in Kuta are lower to compensate for this so you get excellent value in Kuta. Kuta/Tuban are also very convenient for surfers who want close and easy access to Kuta Reef, Airport Lefts/Rights, etc.Guest review byRolandAustralia - 10
We liked the central location in Legian.
We liked the central location in Legian. Hawkers should not attend hotel, this is rest time from shopping and bartering. Pad on Bene was our favourite place to eat anytime. Good food.Fat Tony’s burgers great. Water BOM amazing, our son went 4 times during our stay with great water slides. Traffic congestion to Changu and Ubud was horrendous.
