Its a nice place with small hills here and there.
Its a nice place with small hills here and there. Forts and street food is a must to experience. If you can start early, buy a composite ticket which covers 7/8 major attractions so you can skip the ticket buying queue. Masala chowk is like a cluster of outlets of famous shops of jaipur, like mini outlets. I didnt find it that impressive, best is to take time and visit the acutal outlet.

Kanota itself is a busy town by the main highway. It is a fair drive (45 mins) from the major Jaipur sightseeing spots. There is a supermarket, liquor shop & many small shops a short walk from the hotel. We saw no other tourists during our stay & were quite an oddity for the locals! There may be local sights to visit but they were not advertised / sign posted & we never found them. In hindsight, we would have been better to stay the extra 2 nights in Jaipur itself.

I have been coming to Jaipur for 36 years - perhaps 15 times. I love jaipur though now it is very crowded. I visit friends in town and stay one night only in hotel as after first night I stay with friends in nearby village. I encourage tourists to go an visit a village away from the city if they have time. perhaps just take a bus and walk around. peaceful and friendly.One problem I had was to find money changing facilities. Perhaps hotel could find agent who will change.

As a city it's really good but the shopkeeper / vendors/ guide / auto and cab drivers are just ready to loot / rob you.
You need to bargain a lot for everything as most of the thing here is just 10x overpriced.
This city also has a lot to offer in terms of heritage, history, Rajasthani food, Rajasthani music and culture.
