The location, breathtaking views over the lake and the garden. Amazing outdoor seating, exceptionally tasty food in the hotel, very friendly staff, clean room, good wifi, clean and spacious rooms and bathroom. Pool is available. It was the best stay in Sri Lanka throughout our all trip!

Hatton is a good transport hub for more popular destinations, but it’s also worth visiting as it has easy access to tea plantations, waterfalls, beautiful scenery and is a 1 hour, 30mins bus journey to Sri Pada/Adam’s peak. It’s a busy small city/town so it’s a good place to observe real local life and customs. It’s easy to take a stroll along paths through the nearby tea plantations.

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.
