His daughters can make genuine local food, recommend to try the fern and fried rice/noodles. We have stayed at AA homestay for 4 nights, it’s kinda like a home in the rainforest. Room is spotlessly clean and offer free hot water to make coffee. And they will offer food in meal time. The location is a bonus, only 5 mins walk to the entrance of park. Besides, the bottle water and food price are lower than the grocery store in Mulu park.

It's a 2 minute walk from the park entrance while still giving you the feel of being outside of the park. They kept power on the whole time so we could still charge things throughout the day and keep the fans on all night. At nights the rooms cooled down and were comfortable. The bathrooms were shared but we were the only people here so it felt private.

With Brenda we had a wonderful tour of the large caves and she gives us all the information about the animals we saw along the way. In the evening they showed us a documentary on a big screen about the history of Mulu and the struggle between the locals and the palm oil industry. It was very interesting!
