Nestled amongst peaceful native bushland, Kaka Retreat Motel, Stewart Island offers spacious modern suites with kitchenette, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. The wonderful apartment is located very close to the harbour and extraordinary! The owner was very friendly and helpful. Our apartment had two separate bedrooms, a large living room with a kitchen and a nice bathroom. The terrace was also very beautiful. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return one day to this unique Motel.

Stewart Island's iconic South Sea Hotel is located on the foreshore, in the centre of town. It is 2 minutes’ walk from the ferry and airline terminals. Great place to base oneself before & after Rakiura Track tramp. Rooms are clean as are the bathrooms, lots of towels available at the showers. Food was delicious especially the local Blue Cod. Would stay there again.

Church Hill might be the most wonderful place we’ve ever stayed. The location, the hosts, the accommodation, and the food were all amazing. Exquisite attention to detail!

Butterfield Beach Studio Car petrol and breakfast provisions included is a recently renovated holiday home in Half-moon Bay, where guests can make the most of its garden and barbecue facilities. We loved staying here - the location was magical and the house was comfortable and homely. Everything was clean and the house was well set-up to self-cater. We appreciated Amanda meeting us at the ferry and giving us the use of a car while we stayed on the island. Amanda was very responsive to communication too. Highly recommended.
