The only reason we came to Skagway was to ride the train into Canada. And the train ride met our expectations. Other than that Skagway, in our opinion is just another town built up and owned by cruise ships.Guest review bySeemann1943United States - 10.0

If you are interested in the Alaskan gold rush history, this is definitely a place to visit. You must take a trip on the White Pass and Yukon railroad for the history and the scenery. Also drive over to the ghost town of Dyea and the Chilkoot Pass. We did both of those things while the cruise line people were in town visiting the shops and eating and we would return later in the afternoon and not have to wait in lines. Visiting all the places that the National Park Service have restored to share what life was like during those times were also interesting.Guest review byAnitaUnited States
