The hotel area was very big and beautiful! We liked that there were so many options for relaxing there. Some days we went to the beach and other days to the pool. The pool in the middle of the hotel area was our favorite! So quiet and peaceful. If you wanted music, you went to the other pool. The hotel had great food and cocktails! We have also never been to a hotel where the other guests are so polite and pleasant. That says a lot about the hotel.

This 5-star spa resort is directly on the sandy beach of Amoudara, west of Heraklion. Tennis courts and 3 outdoor pools are featured amidst its 40,000-m² garden.

We visited just 2 days after the start of the season and stayed for 7 days. The hotel was very well maintained compared to some other Mediterranean locations we've stayed in. The food at the main restaurant had some daily variation with some themes days in between. The quality of the food was always great, especially the local vegetables and meat / fish on offer. Do try the Flavor restaurant with the wine pairing if you can, it's a great way to get away from the chaos that buffets can sometimes be. We loved the onsite gym which is on par if not above some dedicated gyms in terms of equipment variety & quality. The fitness activities are also great! I can recommend the bike tours offered by the hotel, the mountain and road bikes they have are very well maintained and even for me at 2.07m tall there was something available. Give the archery course a try! Hendrick did a great job at explaining everything and helping us improve over time! Hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful any time of day and no matter the question. The guest service will try to accommodate any request you might have. Overall we loved our stay at Candia Maris and will definitely come back next year for another relaxing holiday.

Located just outside of Heraklion, having a bus stop in front makes hotel's location great for travellers via public transport. But what is more important is the staff who are there to greet, offer and help the customers. I asked some specifics prior my arrival and was answered accordingly. After our checkout we stayed a bit more in the hotel area, treated as guests till the last moment. Not to mention the scrumptious variety of foods served during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms were also big, having amenities and comfortable beds and pillows.

The hotel was fantastic! Our room was massive and very well stocked. The manager, Fei, and her team, all went above and beyond to make our Honeymoon extra special. Food and the view of the sea from the room was great. We would highly recommend this hotel!

Great sandy beach, clean pools, delicious food (vegetarian options, seafood, pastry) and high quality drinks, friendly staff, good animation. I would recommend this hotel to families with kids and couples for a romantic stay since the hotel offers adults-only areas and enough entertainment for the youngest guests.

Amazing people at the reception desk and the restaurant. Cleaning personnel greets you in Greek (I checked beforehand how to say hello at different times of the day, but kalimera seems to always work) and is ultra diligent. Everyone is always smiling and very helpful. Cheerful animators, if you opt for funny games or petanque. All this was a good enough reason to spend a few days there, but of course the place itself is beautiful with nice pools and beaches around, the hotel is clean and the food is very diverse and tasty. A great place for vacation with kids of all ages - mine were in heaven. I myself enjoyed the lazy long weekend without regrets of missing out (or worse:FOMO) the rest of the Island, which I had explored by bus and car quite thouroughly many years ago (also highly recommended).
