The place is very beautiful, thank you Osama. The location is excellent, very close to public transportation and just a 2-minute walk from the Nile. In front of the river, there is a nice café where you can enjoy tea by the Nile. I will definitely come back again. The place is very clean, the reception is great, and everything is well-organized and comfortable.

Friendly host, nice large apartment, excellent and prompt communication via booking.com. Excellent air conditioning, large fridge and good shower. Toilet roll and soap provided, comfortable sitting / eating area. Comfortable beds and clean linen and towels. Quiet with beautiful views, friendly locals, shops selling snacks and drinks freely available. Very short distance from the ferry. Checked in early and checked out late which we were grateful for, host even did our laundry. Highly recommended 100%.

Great central location on elephantine Island, close to the public ferry. One of the cleanest places we stayed in while travelling through Egypt. Nahla is very responsive and helpful, one of her sons can meet you at the ferry to guide you if needed. Great for travellers on a budget. Be aware that life in egypt isn't the same as in Western countries, things may seem different or scary at first; but looks can be deceiving. We have travelled across most of the world and the people on elephantine Island are certainly some of the friendliest and polite. The small community is peaceful and a great break from the craziness on the mainland.

When in Aswan, I always stay at Roma House!! OK, I’ve only stayed there twice, but I would go back in a heartbeat. “Why?”, you ask. Because the room is comfortable, the shower is hot, the view is to die for, the location is amazing and the price is the best. There is an outdoor kitchen space with 2 electric hot plates as well as a barbecue if you prefer. I’ve used both very effectively. The price also makes this a very attractive place to stay. There are 3 rooms overlooking the roof terrace and there is also a small self-contained apartment with 2 single beds, a few doors up the street. (When I stayed the first time with my wife, we extended our stay by a few more days and moved to this small apartment. ) Mariam is a perfect host. She will arrange tours for you at reasonable rates, or she will leave you to organise your own excursions without any fuss. She provides a good breakfast if you wish. The location on Elephant island is amazing. Can you believe that there is a place in Egypt where there are no cars, no motorbikes, no traffic noise and car horns? This is Elephantine where there are mango orchards and vegetable gardens and basically no machinery. Three minutes on the ferry will get you to and from the island for 10EGP (US$0.20) each way. On this eastern side of the island, there are a couple of good places to eat, have a beer or glass of wine and watch night fall over the Nile.
