It is a great sized house with two bedrooms and a kitchen with everything you need. The owners were amazing and made us breakfast one morning and also helped us out with anything we needed, I would recommend staying here as it’s so close to mirissa beach (10 minute walk).

I am so happy I decided to book a little away from the beach, this place is exactly what I needed. It’s so peaceful, just the sounds of birds & it’s only a 5 minute walk to the beach. I caught the bus from Ahangama & was greeted at the bus stop by Indika & his tuk tuk. I was taken to the accommodation & it exceeded my expectations the room & attached bathroom was so much bigger then in the photos. The back doors opened out to a private patio with a table and chairs & a hammock with a view of the jungle & trees. I was welcomed by Indikas beautiful family with a banana smoothie & I was offered dinner which was rice and curry, it was the best I’ve had in Sri Lanka so far. Indika & his beautiful family made me feel so looked after, safe and welcomed. I originally planned to stay just one night but ended up extending it to 3 days. I will stay here again. Thank you so much for having me! :)

So many great food and cafe options close by! Loved walking to the beach and swimming everyday. Chamil is a friendly and responsive host (picked me up from train station and offered to show me around). The WiFi was one of the main reasons I picked this place and it worked really well for video calls and work - never had any issue. The place is larger and had more amenities than I expected (or really needed) including strong AC, great pressure shower, washing machine (no detergent), and full kitchen.

Great and very comfortable stay at the top location! We were a family of 7 so we had a whole house for ourselves and we really appreciated having the kitchen there as well with the the washing machine! The place really made us feel like at home! It was very clean with a cute balcony :) we would definitely love to return one day.

First, you should know that Google maps are slightly off in Mirissa. There are streets that do not exist, and some are not marked. That's why the location in Booking actually shows you one place, from which you can walk by following the signs. They are very clear and are located on each turn. The location of the "Green Bird" on Google is correct, other than the wrong streets :). I added a photo with a description. 1. We booked both rooms, the main difference is a kitchen (quite good) in one of them. The rooms are spacey, clean and convenient. The doors to the rooms are on the same internal patio the door from the host's family house exits. 2. You can eat on the patio outside of the rooms. The outside fan is really nice to cool you down (also in the shade). 3. Location is 10 minutes away from the city center with the following things next to each other: the supermarket, market stalls (fruits and vegetables in the supermarket are usually 50% more expensive than on the street shops), and a liquor shop. Just a few more minutes further is a beach. 4. The host is sweet and caring and had foreseen all our request beforehand, adjusting to the group specifics. 5. Some reviewers mentioned the night noise. It was a 5-10 minutes village-wide dog barking (you might've heard it if you were in the villages before) and an occasional wild pheasant bird shout in the morning. It wasn't bothering our group, but if you are sleeping with a hair-trigger awareness, I recommend you to bring ear plugs into Sri Lanka in general, not just Mirissa. The wilderness is very close to people's houses and is noisy sometimes.

Great quiet cabin 5-10min away from Mirissa. Property is on a hill (road is bumpy so take it easy when you drive there) and the cabin is in the backyard of the owners' family house. It's completely private though, you're surrounded by trees, birds, frogs and monkeys. We stayed for two nights, one of which the owner drove us to town and back for dinner, which was was lovely and kind. Host family are lovely and we felt very welcome.
