We got a little lost trying to find the hotel, but a staff member jumped into the car with us and directed us. All staff were friendly and the food amazing. The room quite simply was just wow! Felt like a fairytale.

The standouts were: the gorgeous view over the river, the beautiful host family, and the food. We ended up extending our stay. Amazing location right by the river. We went swimming a couple of times which was so delightful for a few very hot summer days. There are a couple of different places to go in. RE food, a plentiful and delicious breakfast of omelettes, feta, jam, bread, traditional pancakes, tea & coffee. We only ate at the hotel restaurant for all our meals: it was so convenient, affordable, and the food was scrumptious! Well catered for vegetarians with flexibility in the menu. Loved the homemade raki! RE location, we didn't have a car so it was expensive to get from Permet to Petran (limited taxi options, no bus). The taxi driver originally charged us 2000 Leke one way, for a 10 minute drive. We ran to the thermal baths which was about 7km each way from the property. We were able to walk 15 minutes to the nearby rock climbing crag which was great. The region would be much better suited to having your own vehicle for exploring, although it was generally fine for us as we enjoyed the peace, tranquility, and downtime at Guesthouse Alvi. Eni, Alvi, and their parents were delightful and generous hosts who made us feel so welcome. We would 100% come back to Petran just to stay here. Comfortable beds. Wifi available. Sufficient bathroom facilities. Spacious room. No washing machine that we saw. No aircon which was fine during the day but a little warm overnight, particularly on days where it reached 36⁰C +. It was lovely and cool outside overnight, it just didn't quite make it into our room. The fan and open window helped.
