With mountain views, DOBAU village is set in Vieira do Minho and has a restaurant, a housekeeping service, bar, garden, children's playground and year-round outdoor pool. Brilliant views, room was clean and the view from the balcony excellent. Very generous breakfast and dinner was good to, liked the ability to pre-order by phone. Staff were really friendly, pool a good size and clean.

Boasting a balcony with mountain views, an outdoor swimming pool and a garden, Gerês Villas can be found in Geres, close to Canicada Lake and 4.5 km from Sao Bento da Porta Aberta Sanctuary. This is a wonderful property, very clean (in fact the property looks new). The kitchen is well equipped although has none of the basic consumables you might need (salt, pepper, oil, sugar, etc). The balcony is a nice size with plenty of room for sun loungers, chairs, table & a drying rack. The barbeque grill built into the wall is a boon and got lots of use during our stay. There is a great view over the lake and it is quite peaceful, being away from the main road. The swimming pool is excellent for lazy days and we often had it to ourselves, it's big enough to actually swim in if you want (~8m long). Our host was wonderful, quick to respond to requests and very helpful (we met her once in the supermarket when buying fish and she stepped in on our behalf to ensure we got the best sardines (for the aforementioned barbeque)) Overall a great property in a great location that we'd be happy to return to.

Featuring mountain views, Villas do Agrinho - Gerês provides accommodation with a private beach area, pool with a view and a garden, around 5.5 km from Canicada Lake. We loved everything about the Villas. The location was perfect, tucked away near the river with a 15 minute drive to the national park. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was brought in a basket every morning with fresh pastries and bread, fruit, yogurt and cereal. The access to the river was great, we spent most days swimming and relaxing by the water. Both the kayaks and the SUPS were free to use. We had an amazing time and will definitely be coming back.

Alojamento Por do Sol has river views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Geres, 1.6 km from Canicada Lake. Very spacious and clean. It has a homy feeling. Very nice location with a beautiful view of the river. We loved it.

Situated in Geres, in a historic building, 1.8 km from Canicada Lake, Cottage da Minha Terra 1890 près d'un lac is a holiday home with an open-air bath and garden. Beautiful characterful cottage, fully equipped with everything you could want. Lovely terrace kitchen for dinner in the evenings. Fantastic views from the terraces over the lake. Great location for exploring Geres (by car)

Boasting river views, Casa de Ribes T2 Vista Fantástica offers accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 3.5 km from Sao Bento da Porta Aberta Sanctuary. Lovely apartment with a great view. Well equipped and nicely furnished. Patio/decking outside was much bigger than expected and really great in the hot weather. About a 15 min walk to the small town where there was a small supermarket and a couple of restaurants/bars (few more if prepared to walk a little further). Walk back is up a steep hill, so keep in mind, but that's what allows for the lovely views. Great scenic location.

The pool was a wonderful end to our day of touring Spain and Portugal. The location is near so many fun and enjoyable things to do. Our hosts were wonderful. They were kind enough to rescue us when we got lost on a very tiny and winding road. It was hard to leave as it felt like a home away from home.
