Beautiful rooms and facilities. Lovely staff that left little gifts for me in the room (still dreaming of the apple juice I got!). Fantastic views of garden, wonderful traditional onsen. Nicely located close to street with restaurants and cafes, and some sights like temples and public onsens. Perfect location for going to see the snow monkeys!

The host was very friendly, and the hotel was good value, the breakfast,,while simple was also cheap and sufficient. The ability to use the private outdoor Onsen was an opportunity not to be missed...as we had few a t views over the town at sunset.

Excellent staff and breakfast and location by the train and bus station very convenient! Onsen was a major plus - highly recommend catching sunset from the public or private baths on the roof :) Also loved the little extras like the welcome drink and self-service complementary coffee in the mornings

Perfect location to walk to the snow monkey park. Quirky, traditional Japanese accomodation with a fabulous outdoor onsen. Recommend the traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast option. Pick up from train was wonderful.

Fantastic staff. We were taken to the monkey sanctuary early to makes sure we had the best experience and were dropped back at the station at the end at with no charge. It’s worth asking for a collection from the station because it’s quite a walk and all slightly uphill. We had a Japanese room which was all you would want, the onsen in the hotel is OK but you can pay to use a private outside onsen with great sunset views. Would recommend but get a taxi or pickup from the station if you have heavy luggage.
