Two different hot spring baths, nice spread of food served to room for breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff but a bit weak on speaking English.

The property is around 24 km from Kumano Hayatama Taisha, 24 km from Shingu Castle Ruins Park and 24 km from Kamikura Shrine. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, free shuttle service and luggage storage for guests. Rather than repeat how wonderful this guest house is, I thought I would describe what is available to do in the area. The guest house is a 15 minute walk to Omibare train station and 25 mins to Komanoshi train station. The walk from Odomari station is through quaint back streets without traffic. Between the guest house and the Komanoshi station, are three impressive walks. (1) the Matsumoto Komoano Kodo pass over the "toge", with a view out over the coast and town (2) the coastal cliff walk with its impressive limestone rock formations (3) the direct path through the mountain tunnel with next to no traffic. From Komanoshi station it is also possible to catch a bus to Sanmaida and do the 2.5 hour hike to a lookout and through the impressive rice paddies. Also part of the Komano Kodo trails. It is recomended to get bus schedule and trail map from the information center at the Komonoshi train station. There is also a beach close by that we did not have time to explore. I recommend staying for at least 2 days.

Isoaruki no Yuyado Ushiogumo -6 years or older- features sea views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kawazu, 37 km from Shuzen-ji Temple. Guests staying at this ryokan have access to a balcony. Guests have access to a hot spring bath, public bath and open-air bath. Really enjoyed staying at Ushiogumo: The facilities are brand-new and impeccable, amazing staff (!!), beautiful location that's close to scenic landscapes. The Kaiseki Ryori dinner was excellent, breakfast was great too! Each room has a private bath on the balcony. There's lots of amenities in the room. Plus, the hotel onsen is made available for private use from 6pm. It's a small property (I counted 7 rooms) and thus feels very cozy. The road in front of the hotel did not really bother us. The terrace windows are well-isolated to block out any noise and there's also the calming sound from the balcony onsen. Extra points for the super-friendly staff!!! ...who can also converse in English so it's no problem for foreign tourists.

Situated in Atami and only less than 1 km from Atami Sun Beach, 素泊まり宿　瑞宝荘 features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property is located 26 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, 33 km from Shuzen-ji Temple and 48 km from Mount Daruma. Lake Ashi is 28 km away and Hakone Open-Air Museum is 34 km from the ryokan. Great location. Well maintained room. Very clean.

The property is set 21 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, 28 km from Mount Daruma and 39 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Private parking is available on site. The staff was really nice, they explained everything and helped me come up with some plans for the stay. They speak some english and we could communicate just fine. I think the place is not meant to stay for many days but it was a pleasant stay nonetheless.

Ocean view, excellent hang out area, fully equipped kitchen, and personal local touristic advice for Izu if you ask. Couldn’t have asked for better. The owners must take pride in their work. Town is nice too and not over touristed. Rent a car and see the cliff hiking trail and seven waterfalls if you can.

The property was so close to the beach front and the amenities were top notch! When it was time for us to leave they couldn’t book any taxis so they arranged a hotel car to drive us off to the station, which we greatly appreciated! 10/10 Experience overall!
