I enjoyed getting a tour of the hosts beautiful Norwegian elk hounds and Alaskan malamutes. There’s even a bbq hut but we didn’t use it. Friendly hosts and lots of peace and quiet.

This is an excellent property in every way: we found it to be clean, comfortable and it had everything we needed. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful, and we were grateful that they shared their local knowledge with us. The view of the fjord from the house is amazing. We stayed for 8 nights and found plenty to do, including visiting Nordkapp, Hammerfest, Sorøya, the Lillefjord waterfall and the stones at Trollholmen. In addition, we enjoyed some lovely local walks and seeing the reindeer wandering by the house. We totally recommend a stay here.

Featuring room service, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The hotel has family rooms. This is without doubt the best hotel of my several weeks long trip to Norway and back again. I discovered it accidentally and at first just came to see the lighthouse and have a dinner. But spending some time there made me think that I actually want to return for a night at this place. And oh boy, it exceeded all my expectations! It was two orders of magnitude better than hotels twice the price. I'm not sure if I've ever met so friendly and helpful staff who really made the whole difference - it felt more like staying at a friend's place rather than at a hotel. The food was great, the bed - one of the best I've ever slept on. And it's a pity I had time only for one night, I already miss this place and want to come back. Oh, and of course - the location and the opportunity to climb up an operating lighthouse! Also, please, pretty please, make it possible to come there for the nothern lights!

Located in Vadsø in the Finnmark region, Ekkerøy Lodge - Arctic living features a patio and garden views. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. The villa has ski storage space and an electric vehicle charging station. One of the best places we've ever been to. Steinar, our host, was extremely helpful at all times. Not that we needed him much because everything was perfect. I mean, arriving in a heated up house with chocolates and a bouquet of red roses on the table - you cannot get a warmer welcome than that! Great location - supermarket and gas station 12 km away in Vadso. Parking is front of the house. The full glass view to the sea is amazing. The beds are very comfortable. The house (studio design) was 100% clean and very modern. The kitchen was fully equipped. Great flat screen TV. A lovely fireplace. Outside there is a sauna cabin which is wood-fired with a view to the sea (no sweat (haha) at all to get it hot!). Enough wood is supplied for everything! We enjoyed the quietness - it is a wonderful place to relax and calm down from stressful days.

I chose this place as the most convenient and at the same time far from the tuiistic trails. nearby is the city of Vardo, which has a port and an airport nearby. I took an incredibly comfortable bus myself; it runs according to schedule.
