Large hotel with large rooms/bathrooms and great sea views. Check in was a breeze, extremely polite and helpful reception staff, very happy to share their knowledge and experiences. They have a great rooftop bar by the pool (too cold to swim when I was here), but I did go to the rooftop bar several times. Staff was amazing, made great drinks (try the Poncha!) and always made me feel welcome. Breakfast was phenomenal, huge breakfast room with hot, cold, veggies, local fruits. Competent and polite staff...always very clean, delicious!! Highly recommend this hotel!! 10 stars!

Everything about the Sao Francisco accommodation was excellent. Starting with the communication with the manager, then the location itself, which is fantastic, the room is clean, nicely furnished, everything is as described. The breakfast is good. Everything you need is on the menu, whether you like cereals, sweet or savoury breakfast, fruit salad, juices, cakes... The woman who serves breakfast is very friendly and takes great care to ensure everything is in order. The manager Sonia is very helpful to make your stay in Funchal perfect. We can only say the best for the manager Sonia and Sao Francisco accomodation.

Set on Madeira’s South Coast, Ponta do Sol has a stunning infinity pool and hot tub with panoramic views. Perfect location, perfect service, perfect food:) This place was worth every cent (or penny, depends on your currency of choice). I'm so happy I didn't decide to stay in Funchal or any other hotel closer to the airport. This place had a soul.

Very clean. Many services are available, in the hotel and around it. Close to the beach and not far from the center. The room was huge!
