Zeer mooi gelegen ecolodge op het eiland mar lodj midden in natuurgebied. Je kan vanaf het strandje zwemmen in de rivierdelta. Eenvoudige maar goede kamers. Zeer lekkere lunch en dinner , maar je eet wat de pot schaft. Geen keuze mogelijk, maar dat hoeft ook niet. Sober ontbijt. Meerdere leuke excursies mogelijk. De boottocht tussen de mangrove is een aanrader. Veel vogels gespot. Zeer vriendelijke eigenaars en personeel. Zeer relaxte vibe. Heerlijk om enkele dagen te vertoeven. Je wordt helemaal zen.

Hôtel Joal Lodge bevindt zich in Joal-Fadiout, op 39 km van Golfbaan Golf De Saly, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een gedeelde lounge en een terras. I had such an amazing stay at Hotel Joal Lodge.  The welcome from Samuel and Ndeye Awa was incredibly warm. I cannot stress enough how kind and helpful and friendly they were. They gave excellent advice about the area and various sightseeing options, sorted my cabs, recommended special Senegalese dinner options (always delicious), and even invited me to share lunch with them whenever I happened to be around at the time.  My room was large, with really cool decor (pink walls, giraffe print bedding, bamboo/ thatched ceiling, pebbled concrete, stylish light fittings), and the shower was a dream for hot water and pressure. A/C worked great too..  The grounds of the Lodge are nicely manicured, the pool was refreshing, and there is a really nice semi-covered roof terrace that offered amazing sea views. The area is also a birdwatcher's paradise.  The Lodge is a 5-10 minute walk to Fadiouth island, 10 minute drive to the Sacred Boabab tree, and 30 minutes drive to an entry point to the Sine-Saloum delta.  Merci beacoup Hotel Joal Lodge for the fabulous visit!

Les Palétuviers ligt in Subikouroto en heeft een buitenzwembad en een spa met een wellnesscentrum. Er is gratis WiFi beschikbaar. De kamers hebben airconditioning, een terras en een zithoek. Beautiful environment with superb views over the river from our room. Food good and service efficient and friendly. My husbands birthday was during our stay and I arranged for a cake as a surprise. A large ice cream gateau with sparklers was presented with singing and dancing from the staff which was fabulous.

King baobab lodge heeft een tuin, een privéstrand, een terras en een restaurant in Diakhanor. Dit hotel met 4 sterren biedt een bar. After a stormy ride with a lot of rain, we arrived at King Baobab lodge. We were kindly welcomed by the lady at the reception and were offered bissap (small gestures we really like). Due to the heavy rainfall the initial booked room was having some leakage problems, but the staff suggested to switch rooms immediately. Which was really nice. The AC was working accordingly. The diner (3 courses) and breakfast was lovely and the drinks at the bar are super affordable! We enjoyed the pool and the lovely wooden bridge towards the beach. The hotel has it own beach area with sunbeds, which is nice!

Villa L'Aldiana ligt in Dianori en biedt gratis WiFi, een buitenzwembad, een privéstrand en een terras. Er is een waterpark ter plaatse en je kunt iets drinken bij de bar. Sagar is a fantastic host, she was so helpful in both arranging my transport from Dakar and back to the airport. She really goes out of her ways to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. I even got invited on an evening grocery shopping tour to the market and fishing port area where I could get a glimpse of the locals' real lives outside the "resort area". The meals you get are hearty and home-made, freshly prepared and abundant. Both breakfast and dinner were really really good. The room and the bed were squeaky-clean, bedding comfortable. Really appreciated the spacious mosquito net over the bed which didn't constrain the space. Bathroom is nice and well-kept. Sagar also did help in arranging a pirogue tour around the mangrove areas, so anything you need that can be arranged, she will most probably take good care of. A very nice host, and a very fine stay here!
