the Duke was terrific!! Great location to the event we were attending, great pub that allowed food And drink without traveling and wonderful garden! the rooms were fantastic; both modern and comfortable! staff… amazing!

Very pleasently surprised, the accommodation was really done well and seemingly quite recently. while we were a little conceened walking up as it looked like a veyr average area and pub, it was very confortable and quiet. You need to go up quite a few stairs depending what level you are on, but for us that was not an issue (just to let anyone know that is not as mobile). We had a room that was in the roof line and amazing with the original oak beams. The pub was not at all reowdy even though it was a Saturday night and we had a lovely bedtime drink before retiring,

Our room was absolutely lovely. The bed was comfortable and the included toiletries were a thoughtful addition. A shared fridge is provided for guests in the main lounge area. Wonderful complimentary breakfast with a nice selection of fresh pastries, fruit, cereal and yogurt. There is a small grocery store across the street as well as a bus stop that takes you right into town. They also kindly provided a secure indoor space for us to keep our bikes overnight. Would 100% recommend the Bat and Ball!

What a sweet and welcoming experience! Sarah and Huge are amazing hosts who make you feel as though you were staying with old friends, whether you are chatting in the huge farmhouse kitchen or relaxing in the lounge. The bed is very comfortable and there’s plenty of hot water. Mind you, the bedrooms are upstairs, so be aware if you have mobility issues. The breakfasts are wonderful, seriously! You won’t leave hungry! They are also very flexible. We needed an extra night and they were easily able to accommodate our needs. They have friendly pups, so be aware.
