Beautiful accommodation connected to the pub. Room was beautifully decorated and really comfortable. The pub is also gorgeous - we didn't eat but the food looked and smelt amazing.

The room was a lovely size, extremely comfortable and warm despite the very cold weather outside. Tobias kept in regular contact and helped us with organising our dinner for the evening, as well as providing an ice bucket upon request and readying the hot tub for an evening outside stargazing. He also provided plenty of information about the castle - there was even a little booklet on the history of the place, which was essential reading to a tour guide on holiday :D Finally the breakfast was served promptly, and was the perfect portion of a full scottish breakfast. It was an absolutely delightful stay.

Host Tobias was very friendly and informative Amazing breakfast in the evening more amazing dining room This stay was one of our highlights Just wish we had of thought to organise dinner as I heard that too was amazing we were told by the other guests we spoke to at breakfast who also said the dining room at night was magical Thanks Tobias we will definitely recommend your beautiful property to friends and if we are back in Scotland the castle will definitely be on our list to revisit So much history we wish you all the best for the future

More like staying at a friends' place than a B&B. Lots of nice touches, tissues, body lotion etc. etc. Kate is an excellent host and I felt very welcome. There is an excellent Scottish inspired breakfast menu, I finally opted for smoked haddock and haggis, both delicious. Bart, the playful young cat, was entertaining and made the place seem even more homely! Would definitely stay again if in Castle Douglas!

The Harbour Inn features a garden, restaurant, a bar and tennis court in Garlieston. The property is non-smoking and is set a few steps from Garlieston Beach.

Hosts Ian and Ester were fantastic.Couldn't do enough for us . So helpful breakfast was great. Haven was idilic,we can't praise it enough wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Not forgetting Ella and pups..loved the whole experience..
