The property is located in Vila Nova de Gaia, just a short walk to World of Wine and about 10 minutes to the river. The property has good views of Porto and is close enough to walk to Porto but far enough away that you have peace and quiet at night. Ideally situated if you want to explore the many port lodges but still convenient to the many attractions of Porto. The property itself is lovely and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless. Breakfast is served from 8.30am and is delicious. The host, Augusto, is very accomodating as is his receptionist, Florbela. Considering the quality of the property and its location, it’s great value for money.

Alfazema sunset house offers an incredible view on the Atlantic Ocean as well as some part of Nova de Gaia. I used the largest room available, it was nice and spacious and has a comfortable and large bed. Pedro (host) was very friendly from the beginning and willing to help, and he allowed me to use his bike for free. The room was regularly cleaned, including refills of port wine :). Also, there is a terrace which extends the view to the coast, just like the rooms. The location is excellent and it is uphill, however do bear in mind that it is relatively far removed from Porto centre. I did use the bike frequently as the nearest subway station is 2kms removed, from there onwards you can reach Porto centre in about 15 minutes by subway.

Lurdes Couto, the owner was most hospitable. Beer, port and cookies on arrival before being shown to our delightful cottage. The kitchen was well equipped, including a coffee machine with capsules and fresh flowers on the dining table. Lovely tranquil garden rural setting. One of the nicest stays on our walking the Portuguese Camino. Lovely breakfast.

The accommodation is a small dream oasis just outside Porto, overlooking the Douro River. Every detail was perfect. Upon arrival, we were offered coffee. The room was spacious, the bed excellent. I truly felt a lovely sense of home. As an added bonus, there’s a terrace with a view where you can relax. I would go back there anytime!

The location was great…nice and close to the Port Cellars and restaurants, walking bridge, and so much more. The deck and view was the very best part! It was just spectacular day and night! Communication with Marie at Guestready was great! And check- in instructions etc was pretty seamless. We had a little trouble getting in the door as it was a little finicky, but we figured it out with some pre-warning. The beds were very comfortable.

Super! The staff is very, very nice and service minded. The offering to get me a transfer from the airport in the middle of the night was the start of a wonderful week. Clean! Liked the kitchen shared with the other guests, and be able to have some food in the fridge. A bit from center so it's calm and felt secure at night.
