From the moment we arrived to our last night, we felt at home. Our gracious hostess, Lumba, made us feel at home. The room was very clean, bathroom clean (a little tiny) but comfy. Breakfast was delicious with your typical English breakfast, coffee and juice offered. Our hostess assisted with excursion bookings, helping us the get the best prices. So our last night we invited her to join us for a little brai (grilling) for dinner. We ate and talked as if we were old friends from years before. Highly recommended this guesthouse!!! Location, price point, safety, customer service all 5 stars!!!

This turned out to be not just a good decision, it was a true jackpot. Chimney made our stay absolutely unforgettable. Travel is not only about nature, but also about people, and it’s the people who connect us to the local culture. Chimney not only shared insights about life in Botswana, but also organized the best game drive we’ve ever experienced: a 12-hour journey through Chobe with a breakfast and lunch break, all arranged by him. We had the time not just to see the animals, but to truly observe their lives in peace. Honestly, this experience even surpassed our impressions of Victoria Falls the day before. While the facilities may seem modest to some, the dedication and heart Chimney puts into his hosting are the real highlights—and they added incredible value to our journey.

My room was clean and tidied up daily. There was a refrigerator, air conditioning and mosquito net over the bed. Breakfast was served on time daily and I opted for lighter fare (coffee, juice, cereal and fruit). Additional items are available. The location is close to Chobe National Park and the tiny “village” area. I found it refreshing to relax at POVI after days of activities. Connie offered dinners prepared by her chef but I made my own arrangements. I had a car and that makes things easier but small Honda taxis are plentiful in the neighborhood and cheap. Connie is a great resource but modest. I accidentally found out that she has made history and is a pioneer featured in a long New York Times article. She was part of the first team of all-female guides in Botswana. All in all, if you want an authentic local experience and can forego luxury for a short time, POVI is easy on the pocketbook and good for the spirit. It is secure too.

At the guest house, some units are allergy-free and soundproof. Staff was incredibly helpful! We loved them all. The food was fantastic. Dinner and breakfast are served in an open thatched lodge. The grounds are beautiful and very quiet.

Certain units include a seating area where you can relax. Most of the Private Rooms are fitted with a private bathroom. The location of the place, gave more privacy and peace. It was so welcoming, clean and it is value for your money. So perfect if I may put it like that. Self catering facility made it worthwhile.

Decorated with modern décor, all the rooms are equipped with mosquito nets, tea-and-coffee-making facilities and air conditioning. Some of the rooms offer garden views. Friendly staff. A lot of fruits for a fruitarian like me.

The property has an outdoor dining area. I enjoyed my stay. The guesthouse is in between Kasane and Kazungula, but it was easy to grab a taxi for 8 pula to get into town. There are taxis constantly going back and forth between the two towns. The location was quiet and peaceful. The hosts were gracious and kind.
