It is coral, so not a beach for swimming - but Playa Negra is a beautiful black sand beach a mere 10 minute walk away - excellent for swimming. We had the air conditioned rooms with floor to ceiling windows looking out at the jungle and ocean as well as a lovely swimming pool. The back courtyard not only a few steps from the ocean, but also full of hammocks and wildlife, daily visits from howler monkeys and tons of birds. A beautiful place to relax. The breakfast was delightful, the staff friendly and helpful. Very clean and very close to everything in town. Many delicious restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The national park, hiking and snorkeling all within a few minutes walk. We LOVED this place and can't wait to go back.

Extras include a sofa, bed linen and a fan. Lovely location right by the beach. The swimming pool was a good treat after a long day . We spotted plenty of wildlife in the property: howler monkeys, sloths, agouti, and poison dart frog. Delicious breakfast.

I especially enjoyed the lovely pool, well-equipped shared kitchen, and inviting areas to relax. The hosts were truly fantastic and went out of their way to be helpful.
