The gentleman at reception was very polite, friendly, and helpful. He gave us a map and several tips about the city, as well as coffee and cookies while we waited for the room to be ready. Every day, there were brownie-like sweets at reception, and in the room they replenished a bottle of water and a delicious chocolate daily. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and stocked with toiletries, and the shower worked very well (it was large, and the temperature control was excellent). The hotel is well located—25 minutes on foot from Princes Street, with a bus stop just a few steps away. Highly recommended.

We had such a lovely stay at the Sheridan Guest House with Tom and Rowena. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. Our room was not only clean and spacious but also beautifully decorated with a lot of attention to detail. One of the highlights was being able to catch a glimpse of the old town from our loft room in the attic when the weather was clear—such a nice touch! And of course the conversations with Tom at breakfast. The location couldn’t be better, with a bus stop right outside and a walk along the Water of Leith leading to some great restaurants in Leith. We’d happily stay here again!
