Featuring a bar and views of river, Dacre House, Gilsland is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Gilsland, 2.7 km from Thirlwall Castle. We booked a stay for one night while walking Hadrian’s Wall path. The owners were very accommodating - they were able to set up a single bed in our room to make it a room for 3. Our room had a large tub which was great for soaking after a long day of walking. Clean, comfortable. Delicious dinner was offered onsite (booked in advance) and breakfast the next morning. The owners made us a packed lunch as well for our next day’s walk. Really lovely stay.
