The village is very pretty and perfect for short walks. The room was comfortable, clean and very cosy. The food was excellent and the breakfast was 11/10. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

Hiljuti renoveeritud hommikusöögiga majutusasutus Heathbank House B&B asub Matlocki pangas, 15 km kaugusel Chatsworthi majast. Lovely welcome from Michael. Great room, decor is beautiful, comfy bed, spotlessly clean. Fridge in room with Prosecco was a lovely surprise also muffins. We even had a dual control electric blanket. There’s also a fan and extra heater in room if you need either. Shower is great, nice and hot. Lots of choice for breakfast, yoghurt, fruit, malt loaf, croissants, cereal, toast, crumpets and more. Theres also a beautiful lounge to relax in. Michael is such a great host and lovely company. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

I loved my cozy room, the comfy bed, the lovely, clean bathroom with the fantastic shower, the thoughtful coffee and tea amenities, the witty proprietor, Alan and his courteous, talented and considerate staff, the tasteful decor and the wonderful welcome. I'm so pleased I chose the Square and Compass and I'm greatly looking forward to my next stay. Very highly recommended!

Katrina and Tim were very friendly and welcoming. They have a lovely cottage which was a delight to stay in. A great location to access the Peak District. Room was warm and comfortable.

From the moment we walked through the door to the minute we left we had excellent service. The staff is both friendly and helpful. I have to give special mention to Diane. She made us feel like house guests, not like paying customers. She is a gem, and such a hard worker. Breakfast was quick and delicious, and covered anything we would like. Our room was lovely, and oh-so-comfy. Plenty of parking and a central location helped to make it perfect. We loved Castleton, and would return to the Bull's Head in a heartbeat. Can't wait!

Our stay at the Bay Tree was nothing short of excellent. Location was perfect for our one day trip to Alton Towers. A short 5 minute drive away. Our host gave us some recommendations for dinner on both our nights, which were a short walk away from the accommodation.
