Mila Homestay is located a bit on the outskirts of Padang, but that didn't matter because it was actually enjoyable to take a morning walk in the rice fields and local villages behind the homestay. I will definitely stay at Mila Homestay again if next time I go to Padang!

The location is fantastic, a secluded bay with incredible snorkelling out front halfway between Sabang and Gapang. The bungalow has great hot shower, mini fridge, drinking water, tea and coffee, mosquito net over the bed, fan and even an hammock on the terrace. Plus Broja and Yunyun are the loveliest hosts, gave us great tips, and Yunyun prepares the best breakfasts. We never wanted to leave!

Let me stay in a slightly more expensive room inside without paying the difference and got a ride back to the guesthouse from the city center at night. I wasn’t there for long but definitely felt it was a good deal for the price. It is pretty far from the center of butik lawang. You can walk it in 20min or get a tuktuk for 30rp. The walk is nice. You get to see another side to the area.
