From the beginning on it was very convenient to stay in contact with Ibrahim and plan every step of our journey. Once we arrived we took a little boat to the floating house and were blessed with a stunning view of the Dal lake and the mountains in the background. Ibrahim and his family welcomed us very friendly. We didn’t have to worry about anything. Boat trips, money exchange, included breakfast or home cooked dinner in kashmiri style, everything was taken care of. In the evening Ibrahim told us the history of Kashmir and its people. An arranged boat took us to floating markets giving us the opportunity to see and purchase amazing handmade crafting. Ibrahims care was more than we could hope for. All in all it was a trip and experience we will never forget. Many thanks to Ibrahim and his family.

The service at Mascot is exceptional, with waiters stationed in each boat who prepare and serve all meals, snacks, and tea. The food is delicious and feels like a home-cooked meal. I particularly enjoyed the lotus root curry and apricot curry, which are local seasonal specialties and were both incredibly flavorful. Staying on Nigeen Lake was a peaceful and serene experience, with spectacular views all around. It offered a quieter stay compared to the bustling Dal Lake, which was exactly what I was looking for. The highlight of my stay was the 2-hour wetland tour, where I got to experience local lake life and wildlife that thrives in the heart of the city. It was a truly memorable experience that I would highly recommend. Despite choosing the cheapest room option, I felt like I was receiving first-class service. The staff and management at Mascot Boats were incredibly welcoming and always ready to chat about the history and richness of Kashmir, adding to the overall experience. The wifi in our boat was low at times, however this did not bother us as our surroundings kept our time full. Do expect power cuts every now again, but that it to expected across the Kashmir region, and the staff make sure to keep essentials like hot water available. We stayed for 2 nights at Going Palace houseboat. It is a deluxe houseboat with intricately decorated. Rooms were nice and clean. The bathrooms were very clean. The facilities in the houseboat were very good. The staff - Wasim, Same er and Sams were very friendly and catered to all our requests.. The food was very homely and tasty. The houseboat location is also great with very good views and away from the sounds of the main road but not far from gate 12. Mr. Goona took special care that we are ok. Overall a very pleasant stay and highly recommended.

Staying with Firdoz in his house boat was one of the best experiences I've had traveling, and not only in India. Every night we sat on the porch of the boat, hanging out and talking about life. Firdoz arranged a boat to take us through the Dal Lake for an entire day, which we spent fishing, swimming, and sightseeing. Every night I was presented an amazing dinner; Firdoz and his wife worked hard to cook something new for me every night. I was treated like family, and like an honored guest. Besides the house boat, Srinagar is an amazing place. There's a lot of interesting history, unique architecture, and some of the friendliest people I've ever encountered. The monuments of the old city and Mughal gardens are constantly set in relief against a background of huge, green mountains. I really had an unforgettable experience in Srinagar and the biggest part of that was staying here. Thank you Firdoz - can't wait to come back again in the future!
