Our stay at this apartment was absolutely wonderful! The place was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and perfectly equipped with all the amenities we needed. The location was ideal, conveniently close to the ferry dock. Forewarning: this is a farm offering authentic rustic experience, make sure this is what you are looking for. Spacious, clean house (rustic buildout), authentic local experience and connection with nature through lush vegetation, sightings and sounds from wildlife, bright stars in the sky, etc. Hosts working to enable all this and also serving tasty typical food (e. g. traditional soup from veal, increible). We appreciated the mosquito nets. A chance to socialize and learn about the lives of other travellers and of the hosts and other local people helping us with our travel. We found the location very strategic-allowing us to explore the nearby sights (Corcovado, Isla del Caño) and also continue our onward journey to Panama.

Relaxing break away. Great stop if your wanting to visit the World Heritage Costarican Spheres. George was an excellent host, giving us loads of info regarding the various archaeological sites which were nearby. Accommodation was excellent. Huge comfy bed, huge bathroom, great kitchen and a balcony we used a lot watching the Macaws in the trees overlooking a beautiful valley. Accomm can comfortably fit 4. Valles of OSA is on top of a hill with a driveway about 30m and easily negotiable in an AWD. We ended up extending our stay to 2 nights. You won’t regret staying here, the views are amazing, hospitality that was extended to us was exceptional and it was definitely value for money. We loved our stay. Do yourself a favour and don’t go past this accommodation!

We stayed here as need a stop before going on to Drake. The staff & bbq were so lovely. the rooms perfect for a stop over & great to be in a local non tourist town in CR. Do try this place , super cute , great food - Top chef & again lovey staff.

The view and the place are stunning. The hosts are really kind and helpful, they will make sure you have everything you need! They will help you book tours, provide their own night tour (do this!) and lend you their canoe. Also be sure to include breakfast and dinner with your stay. They are both excellent cooks! The rooms are really tidy and clean, there is an excellent view from the rooftop patio and you can hear and see a lot of animals, especially at night.

Our stay at Jungle Retreat was truly magical. The house is stunning, and the location is unique. It’s truly a retreat with no sounds other than toucans, crickets, and macaws. You can spend days there without encountering another person or seeing any cars. From the house’s veranda, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea, with incredible sunrises. About 100 meters from the house, there’s a practically private, paradisiacal beach. The sea is very warm, with gentle waves, making it perfect for peaceful swimming. The house is very spacious and offers great privacy for two couples. The common areas and the well-equipped kitchen are incredibly enjoyable. The nearest house belongs to the caretakers, Elena and Julio, who were incredibly hospitable and always willing to help. There’s no hot water in the bathrooms, but it really wasn’t necessary. The pool was clean and well-maintained, with a continuous flow of spring water keeping it fresh and at a comfortable temperature. The house has a Starlink connection that works wonderfully. There’s no air conditioning, but the fans were sufficient, and at night, we slept very comfortably. The driveway from the main road to the house is about 300 meters and can be a bit challenging if the car has low clearance—I recommend using a high-clearance vehicle, ideally a 4x4. A few kilometers toward Puerto Jiménez, there’s a supermarket where you can buy essentials and food. Our experience at Jungle Retreat was wonderful, and the name suits it perfectly
