Great location and the area was peaceful during evening and night. Beautiful historical buildings and streets. The room was excellent and it was renovated for modern comforts but they kept the traditional vibe. Lots of great tourist spots close by and within walking distance. Breakfast was good. Would totally recommend to anyone who would like to experience a night in an old Japanese house.

The house is incredible. Mr. Hitoshi Konishi is very welcoming, kind and attentive. He gave us a tour of his house, explaining us its history. This Machiya is authentic and we felt its soul. We felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay in the beautiful old House. It is spacious, clean and very well-equipped. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is best at the end of a long day. Yukata were given fresh each day and breakfast was delicious each day. Most of all we enjoyed the attention given by these kind and friendly people working at "Machi no Odoriba". We learned about the house and japanese culture - a treasure we'll preserve and take with us back home.
