Absolutely awesome spot if you're passing through Barrydale. We were driving down route 62 and spent some time in the surrounding area. This was one of the most well equipped and lovely little spots I've stayed at over the years. Wish we had been here longer. Great location, quite, clean and beautiful. The cottage had all we needed and some very nice extras including the indoor fireplace we ended up needing to use as it was a chilly night. Would highly recommend for a couple passing through this way.

Great Host, rooms and Bfast. Is well positioned for walking into town and is a very comfortable home with an excellent honesty bar. Uwe the host offers to do dinners but I unfortunately missed the email as I would otherwise have enjoyed this. BFast is excellent.

We loved the helpfulness of Jaimie, the attention to detail within the cottage and the beautiful wall paintings by a local artist. Also the opportunity to sample and enjoy the sheep's milk and yoghurt made behind the cottage.

The location was perfect! The owners gave us a tour of the farm and explained their farming methods in great detail. The private wine cellar was a gem, which we visited twice during our stay. We can not wait for a opportunity to visit this special place again.

The hotel is in the middle of all the village's attractions and on the main road. The room was very clean, beautiful decor with an extra size bed with quality bedding. The price included a great breakfast, and they are pet friendly! Highly recommended

Our friendly host communicated clearly and timeously. She clearly has put thought into every detail: The apartment is furnished with care and consideration, and the space is welcoming and comfortable. Birdsong's setting in the charming village of Barrydale makes it ideal for a country escape within relatively easy reach of Cape Town. We found the experience restorative and relaxing, yet there is lots to do and see in the vicinity, whether you're exploring on foot or cycling, or taking trips further out by car.

Attention to theme detail in rooms offered an alternate experience in each, lots of time, and passion has gone into the finest detail. Breakfast was served in a " grand dining room." Quiteness of the village.

We were a little sad that we had only booked two nights at Birdsong. We loved the size, cleanliness and neatness of the unit. This accommodation is very comfortable and well equipped for self catering. Magriet welcomed us warmly, gave us information about the area and recommended restaurants and places we should visit. She was a really thoughtful and generous host, even bringing us a bowl of grapes that she had found in the village because they looked so good. We will definitely use this accommodation again.
