The little town within the crater is a very special place and Casa Helena was the perfect place for us to stay. Communication in advance was already great because our questions about transfer and guide were immediately answered in a very friendly way. We were picked up at the airport in the morning and dropped in Sao Felipe for a stroll where we also bought some snacks. Around midday we were then taken to the accommodation. The drive was a public aluguer which made the transfer so much cheaper and the drives in the aluguers were always highlights during our time on Cabo Verde! We also already met our guide Marcello for the Volcano hike and he was great, too. Good English, super friendly and flexible. We were able to ask him all our questions! And listening to the stories of the 2014 eruption as well as life at such a special place was very valuable. We stayed for a few nights and it was one of the most impressive places on earth that we have ever seen. We really enjoyed going running, hiking, strolling and biking (we rented bikes at the Marisa hotel which was expensive but the bikes were incredibly good). The room was in one of the traditional round houses with a bathroom and had everything that we needed! Also the food was delicious and everyone was wonderful and friendly!! Thank you so much for this absolute highlight of our holiday and for taking such good care of us! An additional plus: the CHA wine! So good!

Pensao Zé Doce está en Portela y ofrece bar. Este bed and breakfast tiene jardín y parking privado gratis. Hay toallas y ropa de cama en el bed and breakfast. Villages on the lava field in caldera is incredible. Jose is super host. He organize pick up, cooking, tours around island. They brothers are very good gidės to climb to volcano. My big thanks to Felix. I would reccomend to stay there min. 2 nights.

Rose silva está en Portela y dispone de wifi gratis, terraza y restaurante. El apartamento ofrece desayuno continental o vegetariano. Great location, at the foot of the volcano and in the middle of the village. If you choose to eat there, food is really great and you are welcome at the host’s.

Pensão Repouso Alegre Turismo e Aventura está en Portela y dispone de vistas a la montaña, jardín, terraza y restaurante. En el bed and breakfast se sirve un desayuno continental. The place was very comfortable and with everything you need to enjoy some days and chill at the village of Chá das Caldeiras. The guided hike to climb the volcano was also great and a very complete experience overall. Our host, José, was always very kind, helpful and friendly. I totally recommend this place for anyone who wants an authentic getaway to relax and enjoy a few days by the volcano.

Cruzeiro Guest House tiene salón de uso común, terraza, restaurante y bar en São Filipe. El alojamiento, construido en 2020, está a pocos pasos de Playa de São Filipe. Spacious, clean room with a sea view, you can sleep listening to the waves. The staff was very friendly and helpful, good breakfast served at the roof. Super happy with this accommodation. :)

Chez albino guest house está en São Filipe, en la región de Fogo, y dispone de balcón y vistas a la ciudad. Stayed here a night and very happy with the choice. The room was clean and cozy and the best thing of course was the balcony facing the ocean...heaven! I sat out there quite a bit, what a view, especially for sunset. A very nice gentleman runs the place and speaks excellent English. Breakfast provided but I left really early so he gave me some coffee plus some hard-boiled eggs to take with me. You can order dinner there, I got a chicken dinner for 700 CVE and it was really good and big portions. The room did not have A/C but I really didn't need it, there is a fan provided and things cool down nicely at night. Great choice and a great value...thank you!
