Set back from the road in a quiet, secure space. There is a cute little attached restaurant that serves large, delicious, well priced breakfasts. This place was a great find in the middle of a very interesting little town full of culture. Also for some reason this town is not affected by the power cuts so 24 hours of electricity. I highly recommend.

The hosts were very prompt in communication & the apartment is ideally located in Old Town. Everything is walking distance. It’s in a very secure complex with balconies overlooking an interior courtyard - little glimpses of great vistas of the hill & angel. The apartment was very well equipped. Hot water, wifi &’kitchen were great. Many restaurants in Old Town close by sunset, so preparing meals was a good option. There’s also a washing machine. The hosts were incredible. They met us & gave us a detailed directory to Quito that was very helpful. The apartment has 3 bedrooms. There’s a lot of attention to detail - guidebooks are available in Spanish, English & German. Maps &’other resources. The kitchen is complete - pots, pans, full fridge, etc. I can’t imagine a better home base for exploring the city!

The hotel is in a great location close to plaza Independencia and the Basilica and churches as well as restaurants. The rooms are simply decorated, which we like, and are spacious and well equipped. We found the beds very comfortable and they readily supplied us with extra blankets and a heater since we were there during a Rainy cold spell. It has a lovely courtyard, a library of Spanish books which I appreciated to help practice reading Spanish and an inside balcony to sit in the sun. But the best part are the proprietors and helper. Maria who manages the place is a gem! She was warm and helpful and even invited us to join her and her husband and son to participate in the Dia del Muertos festivities, which was fascinating. Lenny, her husband, explained what was going on to us in English. It was authentic and kind to include us as friends. Lenny also was our driver and guide to Cotopaxi and another day when we went to Mindo. Their helper, Matty, was lovely too - Just so joyful! - and she helped me with my Spanish. We stayed there a total of 5 days. Two nights before the Galapagos and three nights after. We felt like we made new friends and were sad to leave them!

This beautiful Lodge is located right at the entrance to the quiloto loop. The hostess is warm and lovely and happy to chat. The dinner was fabulous! The bed comfortable and warm with many blankets. Great breakfast and pack lunch. There's a fireplace games and books as well as endless coffee tea and water. Plus good wifi. All that amazingness and you walk out the door in the morning and you're on the trail!

The incredibly warm welcome of smiles and beautiful hospitality, along with a happy dog and cat, it felt like we were stepping into a home. It was the best and calmest place with A variety of teas, boiling water, drinking water, coffee, homemade cookies and banana bread upon arrival with the fire lit for us to get all cosy after our walk along the trail. Super friendly vibes, community dinner was exceptional and the vegan option was the best I’ve had in Ecuador. The views over the valley are beautiful and clear sky’s meant for tea under the stars in the evening :)

The subway station was only about a 3-minute walk away, which was very convenient. The room was very clean and comfortable. I was surprised that there was no water in the fridge, but there was a water dispenser in the hallway that we could use. I had to leave early for the airport, and the receptionist kindly booked a taxi for me. It cost around 11 USD and was very helpful.
