Absolutely stay here, it was a highlight of our trip! We stayed for almost a week and had such a nice time. The room is comfortable, breakfast is wonderful, the shared bathroom is no problem as only shared with one other room. We rented a moto and had fun seeing the places recommended. Shower was hot. But the star is your host - extremely helpful and caring. He even got my partner a birthday cake for his birthday, and picked us up from the bus station! He is a guide and loves to share his knowledge

Situated in Rantepao in the South Sulawesi region, THE SINGKI HOME FAMILY has a balcony. This homestay features a garden. Rooms include a terrace with mountain views and free WiFi. I had a wonderful time here. Most important - hosts are the best! Imanuel and his son are the nicest people. Imanuel is the local guild and he can organise the tour and treks for you. He can help with tickets and transport and he is very informative. Accommodation is basic but nice and clean. Very good breakfast with fresh fruits and juice. And it's just a few minutes walk from the city center The location is stunning - in the middle of a rice field. I could simply sit on the terrace and enjoy the view. The water buffalos, people working on the rice fields and lots of birds. And there are fireflies in the evening. I would love to stay longer here in Rante Pao. I will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

Rantepao
Ne Pakku Manja Family Home has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Rantepao. This homestay features a garden. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a car rental service is also available. Never thought I’d leave a place in tears and yet I did here. What a wonderful, profound experience. My partner and I were lucky enough to stay for just two days, and had the absolute pleasure of doing a three-day tour with Meyske, who is also a guide herself. The Homestay: They truly put the home in homestay. Very quickly we realized that when returning from a tour, we weren’t saying “let’s go back to the homestay”, we were saying “let’s go home.” instead. The place is small and simple: four basic rooms with a mattress, pillow, and blanket. No windows, but a mosquito net (we only saw two mosquitoes the whole time). Two toilets and one shower (cold water, though you can ask for a kettle of hot water). Roosters and pigs can be noisy, so earplugs help. And yet, the feeling? Like coming home to friends. With only four rooms, evenings naturally turn into sharing stories, bonding over a beer, and enjoying some of the best food you’ll eat in Indonesia, cooked by Meyske and her kind, lovely mother. Don’t skip the dinners. They’re fantastic. The Tour with Meyske: Yes, it’s pricier than many options, and you’ll certainly find cheaper guides. But with Meyske, you’re getting something rare. Most tours show you places and facts. Meyske tells you a story. Like any good story, there’s an opening chapter, rising action, real characters you come to care about, and a powerful ending that leaves you deeply touched. That’s exactly how it feels to be guided by her. On day one we learned about the history and background of the Torajan people. Then, step by step, she immersed us in ceremonies, connected us with people, and shared meals and stories with them. Finally, she wove in her own story, showing how it connects to the bigger picture of life in Tana Toraja. And that’s when we were left in tears. I won’t spoil her personal story since it’s something you should experience yourself but I will say this: she once mentioned she hopes for a small, traditional Torajan funeral.

They serve great breakfasts, and Resinta can also prepare excellent lunches or dinners (with generous portions). Drinking water, hot water, coffee, tea, and laundry service are available. Jacob and his son Yansen speak English and are very helpful. Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and each room has a fan. Bathrooms and showers are clean and have hot water. Scooter rental is available for 100K per day. Thanks to Jacob, we had the opportunity to attend a local funeral ceremony. Jacob is generally very helpful and willing to assist with almost anything—don’t hesitate to ask him.

Situated in Rantepao in the South Sulawesi region, NUANSA HOMESTAY Authentic&Hospitality has a garden. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking. The villa features an outdoor fireplace and a 24-hour front desk. The guest house was a wonderful gem in the middle of Rantepao, conveniently located near all the Tana Toraja points of interest. I had a traditional Torajan home all to myself and it felt so special. The place was extremely clean, had all I needed. It is part of a typical Torajan family's compound. Aldi, the host went out of his way to help and assist me with everything. He even waited for us until late at night (and I felt horrible about it, because it was like 1.30 AM when I arrived), as I was driving from Makasar and arrived later than expected. He organized a 2 day tour with Mr. Ino (also recommended), who showed me around the main sights at VERY reasonable cost. The place was spotless, comfortable, and felt like I was in a documentary. Absolutely recommended. As for Tana Toraja.... it is a unique corner of our world. Make sure you spend at least 2 days there to see everything. Ask for Ino's services.

Ibra is the most helpful and caring host. He ensures the home is clean and comfortable, he helped us to organise everything, took us to town for dinner, picked us up when we had finished, organised scooters, guides, drivers. Fantastic host. Also, this homestay is only 4 minutes walk from Ke’te Kesu, one of the best traditional village/hanging grave sites to visit.
Outstanding Homestay! Wonderful, warm-hearted hosts, the place is super cozy and lovely decorated and it's situated in an actual traditional Toraja village. The food is delicious, we felt very welcome. Booked a 2-day guided tour through the homestay and had a great experience! Thanks a lot!
Charming home-stay in the rice fields host by amazing Imanuel and his son! Our host took us to Toraja’s funeral, the different graves of Torajan people, buffalo market and trekking around the beautiful landscapes and villages of his country. Delicious breakfast!
