We had an amazing stay at Har's place. The location is nothing short of dreamy, with amazing views of the valley hills just in front. Har has constructed all the houses (I recall around 3-4 now) by himself, you can check on his IG for more detail on how he built them! All of them are really comfortable and unique, following the local architecture, blending with nature and each of them providing a different experience. Har is an expert and consultant on organic farming and produces his own veggies that he uses to cook the most fantastic breakfasts you will ever have, super yummy and different everyday, with the plus of overviewing the views directly from your stay. Don't forget also to order dinner from him, much better than eating anywhere else, every meal was amazing. Har always went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable, showed as around his plantation (he plants to reforest the area with a thousand fruit trees!) and the best: he gave us the best tips on the island, pointing spots that are not even in Google Maps and ready to explore. Think on pristine waterfalls, empty beaches, beautiful local villages, hills, etc. Please visit Har and Sumba before it gets ruined by the evils of mass tourism, and please visit with an open mind, it's raw, wild, authentic, and that's why is missing facilities compared with other destinations, but that what make it so unique and special. Thanks so much Har, we cannot wait to visit you again, cannot wait to see your new creations, houses, farm and forest!

Morinda Villa and Resto se encuentra en Waingapu y dispone de jardín, terraza, restaurante y wifi gratis en todo el alojamiento. Amazing location, Freddy the owner is such a welcoming and warm person. He gave us so many tips about travelling through sumba and recommended us to join the sunrise trekking on the hills next to the villa. We paid only 250.000 and we got an incredible sunrise! The views were stunning and he loves to share his passion for nature and culture! The villa was in great condition and the breakfast was good. Our highlight was definitely his own weaving art. He has a little shop in the reception area with local pieces. But he mentioned that his profession is being a Weaver and he has higher quality pieces in his house. He invited us to his place and showed us all his work and we were listening to him for 1 hour. The pieces are made with such beautiful patterns ans designs. We bought one, and this is our favourite souvenir of 2 months travelling through Indonesia and Vietnam. If you stay here, make sure to talk to Freddy :)

Oro Beach Houses está en Weetebula y ofrece vistas al jardín, jardín, zona de playa privada, salón de uso común, terraza y restaurante. The owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The meals were delicious The beach is beautiful and peaceful. It’s a perfect place to loose yourself and find yourself.

Camp Tarimbang, que cuenta con jardín, salón de uso común y terraza, ofrece alojamiento en Tandulujangga con wifi gratis y vistas al mar. Amazing stay on one of the most amazing beaches I’ve ever seen. Far away from people, WiFi etc. A great place to disconnect. Highly recommended and would love to stay again

Good place to spend the night, ideal for large group of friends and family, if you book the 2 rooms apartment. Very clean.

Lambo Homestay está en Waikabubak y dispone de vistas al jardín, jardín, salón de uso común, terraza y restaurante. We had a great stay at Lambo Homestay. Authentic place 15 minutes from the beach. And has the area’s best food!

El Cemara Beachfront Suite ofrece alojamientos con vistas al mar y aparcamiento gratuito en la playa privada de Purukambera. The staff at Cemara were incredible. They greeted us with juice and farewelled us with bracelets. They were helpful with any questions, and provided us with a scooter, snorkel and yoga mat upon request. The staff were incredibly attentive and kind - they went above and beyond. The location is fantastic, right on the beach and great swimming at high tide. Snorkelling was only 50m out from the shore and there is a cool waterfall was about 45 minutes (by scooter) down the road. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant was well priced and we had a decent breakfast. There was always complimentary bottled water! Overall, we had a lovely, relaxing stay at Cemara.
