Kinosaki Onsen, Toyooka
Facing the central shopping street of the Kinosaki Onsen hot spring area, Morizuya offers authentic Japanese-style accommodation, hot spring baths and Japanese dining. Guests can wear colourful yukata robes at the property. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. Staying at Morizuya was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. This cozy, family-run ryokan radiates warmth and hospitality. Manager Hachisuka and his family do everything they can to make you feel at home, and our stay truly exceeded expectations. The ryokan is charming and traditional. We stayed in a spacious, comfortable tatami room with beautiful décor and a view of a peaceful garden. The room included a private toilet and sink, while bathing is done in their private onsen (yes, private — no need to bathe with others if that makes you uncomfortable). Morizuya provides yukata for men and women, sandals, bags, towels, and an onsen pass for the town’s seven public baths. Women can also choose a kimono for going out around town and shopping, while men can (and should!) relax in their yukata for this same purpose. I especially want to highlight how Manager Hachisuka truly went above and beyond. He’s not only an excellent photographer — taking beautiful photos of my fiancée and me among the cherry blossoms and guiding us to great photo spots — but also incredibly kind and attentive. He personally helped us with our schedule and drove us to the station early in the morning to ensure we caught our train on time. That level of care is something we’ll never forget. If you’re unsure where to stay, I strongly recommend Morizuya. We left with beautiful and unforgettable memories of this warm and authentic experience in Kinosaki. A few quick tips about the bath: There are two onsen inside the inn. From 7 AM to 3 PM, they’re public (men/women separated). From 3 PM to 11 PM they become private — no reservation needed. If the door’s unlocked, it’s available. Go in, lock the door behind you and enjoy. You’re welcome to bathe with your family or partner. Be sure to shower and clean yourself before entering the bath. Walking around town in your yukata(or kimono) is part of the charm, so don’t be shy — it’s all part of the experience.

The property is located 2.5 km from Karafuneyama Beach, 37 km from Hachimangu Shrine and 37 km from Bizen Fukuoka Folk Museum. The luxury tent has a hot tub and a housekeeping service. From the second we arrived till we left the parking lot we felt nothing but overly welcome. The place is absolutely amazing. The staff even more so. We chose the accommodation for the clamping, we knew nothing about the town or area. Also this was a very pleasant surprise. It felt like we were the only tourists in the city and everyone, without exception, made us feel welcome. Dot Glamping in Ako might be the best surprise on our fantastic trip to Japan. The tent is huge, and although there is so much to see outside of the premises, it is well worth it not leaving, just enjoying the place. The private area is great too. We stayed two nights, and as we didn't have a car, we chose to include dinner in our order - do that, it is well worth it. The first night we got yakiniku which we grilled in the main building, the second night we got seafood which we grilled in our private area next to the tent, overlooking the ocean and sunsent. It is difficult to describe the welcome and feeling of staying at Dot Glamping in Ako, maybe the amazing staff just made it so much more, but I would travel to this place again. I can only recommend it. Nature is so close and is so beautiful in Ako!

Good place for the price.

Very clean, comfortable accommodation in a historic building with wonderfully friendly and helpful hosts. Laundry facilities are available. Dinner was a large amount- three dinners was more than enough for four people. The breakfast was also large and extravagant.. keep in mind they eat whole fish for breakfast in this country ;). the village is beautiful and the beach is completely empty. The property is literally a quarter of a block from the beachfront.
Everything, awesome place in a wonderful and authentic small village
sound of the sea Walking past fishing village with old houses
We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Tocen Goshobo. It was just a few minutes walk away from the bus stops. The onsen bath was atmospheric and the temperature felt just right (not too hot even for inexperienced bathers). The staff was wonderfully welcoming, the room lovely and the futon beds extra comfortable. The Arima onsen village was bigger than we expected, several dinner options (we opted for only breakfast (was superb!) at the Tocen Goshobo).
I booked a villa with two bedroom. The bed is very comfortable. It has a private sauna and private parking.
Free shuttle to the village, staff for so amazing and professional. Room was super large.
My stay included a fantastic Japanese breakfast served in my room, access to their Onsen, and a pass to the other 7 onsets in the village (1 onsen is closed everyday in rotation). Family and staff running the ryokan were incredibly friendly! Before starting the check-in process, I was able to observe the tea ceremony. It felt extra special since the ceremony was performed by the owner's mother. The owner helped take many pictures for me outside of the inn and on the street! I was especially appreciative since I was travelling solo!
I was able to have the balcony room all to myself during 2 nights' days. The drink was good after going to onsen and the staff was really friendly too. The ropeway is right past the bridge in front of the holiday home. The nearest onsen/bathhouse is less than 5 min walk, so it's not a problem.
It is a old traditional Japanese house, very chatty, spacious and comfortable. Furnitures are provided also for cooking. There’s a big irori in the main room to have dinner or chill out. It’s located in a quiet village on the island, there’s not so much to do but it’s good to relax. The owner is polite and runs a restaurant where you can eat by the sea. Truly recommended for families and groups.
