Free WiFi is available throughout the entire property. I can't begin to describe how good my stay was here. The accommodations were amazing. The room was warm and cozy. The building was beautiful and looked new and clean but, had the charm of an old traditional Japanese home. I came to snowboard and they had a room to store and dry all my wet gear. They were able to handle shipping my snowboard to and from the airport with Yamato transport. There is a direct bus to and from Shiga Kogen every day as well. There is not an onsen on site but, you can buy tickets to various local onsens, all of which were spectacular. All onsens had an indoor and outdoor bath. Breakfast was served every morning and, it was great to eat and chat with other travelers. Truly, the best part about staying here was the owners themselves. Yoshi and Seong-mi were two of the kindest, most friendly people I've encountered on any of my trips across the world. They made my experience feel like I was staying with my brother and sister. In fact, the whole town of Yudanaka felt like home to me and, I know this is a place I will never forget for the rest of my life.

Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park is a 15-minute drive away. My husband and I spent a night here to experience Japanese onsen for the first time and see snow monkeys in the area. We went with a traditional Japanese style room option and had no regrets. The room was fantastic. Saying spacious would be an understatement. Very large living area, separate sit down area and balcony with beautiful view. The large entryway, washroom, separate shower with bath and separate powder room. The room has AC and we were very warm despite the snowstorm outside. We had the means to make tea in the room with a beautiful tea set and there was a coffee bar downstairs. The room also had a TV. For both meals we went with the Japanese options and the staff was very helpful and accommodating to help us and explain every dish. There was even a small guide included with each meal outlining what is being served for each course. The facilities were outstanding as well. We opted for a private onsen and it was simply magical with the snow outside. There is a swimming pool as well that my husband used. If you forgot your swimwear you could get one there for a small fee. There is a small gift shop downstairs (they accept the cards as a payment option) with local sweets and small souvenirs. The fact that you got collected from the train station with a minibus and dropped off after your stay was extremely convenient as well and we didn't need to take the local bus. We were very close to the snow monkey park. We had a fantastic stay and we couldn't ask for a better experience.

Akira was super helpful and caring during my stay. He helped out in everything I need, even helped me to call to see if there's any instant film around. I ordered dinner which is not in my plan, food was well prepared and tasted fresh and yummy. The next day Akira drove me to the Monkey park, after that he went to pick fresh bamboo shoots from the mountain, which is the fresh food I ate the other night. Last but the most helpful mama, she so strong and kind, picked me up from the monkey park and helped caught the train back to town. Overall a perfect stay here and one of my best memories in this trip.

With an open-air bath, the 2-star ryokan has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. Guests can use the spa facilities, or enjoy mountain views. The staff is nice, if you are thinking of visiting the Snow Monkey Park is a great location, the food is awesome so I recommend that you take both breakfast and dinner if you can. The outdoor onsen was great, too, and the bedrooms are comfortable, and you are provided with a traditional japanese experience as well.

They took us to the monkey park and get us from the Yamanouchi station as well. They have private and public onsen as well. The rooms are warm and comfortable.

The traditional rooms have Japanese-style futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. I really liked the athmosphere of it. It felt like traditional Japan. We had half board that allowed us to try japanese food beyond what we would dare to order in a restaurant. The staff was exceptional!

A free shuttle is offered from Yudanaka Train Station, which is a 10-minute drive away. The staff is lovely, the service excellent, and the food delicious. We went off-season so it was very quiet and peaceful to stroll around the little town and visit the public onsen with the yukata and shoes provided by the ryokan. The best one was the bath in the hotel though. They also offer a free shuttle service for the station and monkey park as well. We felt pampered and well taken care of at all times.
