This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. This was the best value for money stay I had this trip. Highly recommend opting for dinner to be included with your stay. The steamed vegetables and meat with rice and soup was a sumptuous, healthy yet delicious meal especially at the end of a day's big hike. The dorm beds were comfortable, and it was a really nice luxury to get a private onsen experience (especially the outdoor one). Though there was no convenience store around, the hostel has a very good range of snacks, instant noodles, buns at good prices so you don't have to worry about not having food around.

Friendly Japanese host, speaks both Chinese and English fluently. Delicious dinner, breakfast, and lunchbox. Room is spacious and very clean.

She offered us an amazing home cooked dinner, which definitely exceeded our expectations 😋 (paid extra, but very much worth the price!). She is such a kind and noble person. We gave her a small gift on check out and she reciprocated us 🎁. The breakfast was also amazing! The free parking spot in this nice stopover area for the drive through tour was a big plus! Can only wholeheartedly recommend!

It is located 1.2 km from Heisogen Park and features full-day security. The property is non-smoking and is situated 1.1 km from Kishu Museum of Art. Kabuki and Keita have created a welcoming and comfortable space for travelers. The room was simple and perfect with a comfy bed, small table with lamp and wash area. The breakfast was probably the best I’ve ever had — not just in Japan, but ever! So much care in every detail with homemade and fresh yogurt, granola, breads and juices. The generous breakfast kept me full until afternoon! They were helpful with suggestions for the area. The central location is great — can walk to most places in Shirahama and near many restaurants and cafes. They also run a small cafe. I loved the care and attention to details. If in Shirahama again I would only stay here!

This 3-star ryokan offers full-day security. Matsushita Park is 45 km away and Subaru Hall is 47 km from the ryokan. We wanted to have a traditional experience as such. We loved the atmosphere. It calmed us down very quickly. The entity is managed by very little stuff. But they do their best to serve the small amount of guests well. Therefore one feels very familiar and cozy. In order to embrace every detail we recommend to join the morning ceremony and to visit the onsen. As a vegetarian I had no problem trying the whole menu provided. One could see that it’s been made with love. The rest of my family did not really enjoy the food, but also tried almost everything out of respect.
